Is the DMV Open During the Coronavirus Pandemic? Colorado

During these trying times, we have learned a lot of things. Weather its something about our own families, or getting together more often is a lot of fun. We discovered new hobbies to enjoy. We know that our president doesn't know what he is doing. But some selfish people just don't understand the true meaning of "Freedom"
June 2020. I was 17 years old at the time. My mom took me to the DMV so I can take a test to earn my learners permit. My dad, being disabled (nerve damage) and at a high risk of dying if infected with COVID-19, stayed home, and my younger brother (12) tagged along. We all wore mask, of course, and I got set up to take the test. About half way into the test, I hear a commotion erupt behind me. The following conversation took place.
"Sir, do you have a mask?" asked the lady at the door performing screening (nice lady by the way, just don't get on her bad side). Her name is Amy. She was talking to a man who, evidently, didn't have a mask. This is today's Karen, but because she's a guy, let's call him Bob.
"This is good enough." said Bob
"No it's not sir, you need to wear a mask." said Amy.
"No, no, no, this is fine. I'll be O.K. with this." Said Bob. I couldn't help myself but turn around to see what he claims is "good enough." He was holding his shirt to his face, which really doesn't count as a mask. I continued to take my test.
"Sir, that isn't going to work, you must wear a mask in order to enter the building." said Amy. In the state of Colorado, businesses reserve the right to ask customers to wear a mask, and of course the right to refuse service to anyone. Clearly Bob didn't get that memo.
"Who's your manager?" asked Bob. Ah, the classic Karen request to talk to the manager. This is wear things get interesting.
"I will go find him, but you must wear a mask, sir." said Amy, her voice displaying annoyance and agitation. Then Bob cocks an attitude back and starts talking like Scott Roper (eddie murphy) from Metro .
"Listen, b*tch, I can do whatever I want!" said Bob. "This is F*cking America! I could sleep with your sister if I wanted." At this point, Amy realizes she won't be able to knock some sense into this SOAB, so she continues to stand her ground, and refuse to let Bob in. Another employee goes to find the manager, who's name is Derek, a Marine veteran. Bob realizing he won't be let in without a mask starts shouting and cursing. "I've been waiting in this f*cking line for three f*cking hours just so my son can get his permit!" He goes on and on screaming "F.U. F*ck this, F*ck that!" At one point he shouts "this is infringing on my American rights!" Then he starts to walk away still shouting. Amy closes the door to filter his trash talking, but you could still hear him screaming outside. Amy apologizes that we had to see that. Something tells me this isn't the first time this happened.
A few minutes later I finish the test, in which I missed 2 questions, enough to pass and get my permit. While I was turning in my results, and answering a few questions about myself, Bob was still screaming and making a scene and a fool of himself. At one point, Derek walks past behind the lady I was talking to at the front desk. He had his cellphone to his ear, already talking to a 9-1-1 operator. It sounded like the police was already on their way. Derek approaches the door to address the self-centered punk, with a face shield to protect him, in case Bob decides to spit on him. When he opens the door, Bob was already their to meet him.
"This women is refusing me service, violating my American rights... and blah blah blah!" shouted Bob.
"Yeah, I know" said Derek "I could hear you yelling from my office in the back."
"Don't you get all 'smart-ass' with me b*tch!" said Bob "I'll f*cking sue you all for this."
"I know you will" said Derek, continuing to be a smart-ass.
"B*tch!" shouted bob as he attempts to swing at Derek "I will f*cking have you sued! F*ck you motherf*cker." Then Bob begins to push and shove him. Eventually, he gave up and evidently drove away. Derek told the operator on the phone what he was driving and hung up, then he told the people waiting outside to let us know if he is coming back. Derek then walks back towards the desk. Their I checked on him.
"Are you alright, sir?" I asked.
Derek Gave me a smile "Oh I'm fine, I ain't gonna let no p*ssy get me down." We all laughed.
While I was getting my photo taken for the I.D. card, a sheriff from the Douglas County Sheriffs Department stepped in. Derek was there to meet him.
"Did you find him." asked Derek
"Actually, we did" said the sheriff smiling. "Another officer out on patrol pulled him over because he was driving on the wrong side of the road" He's referring to Parker road, which is a busy state freeway. The Idiot was so pissed off he didn't even noticed he was driving the wrong way. Thank God they caught him, cause if he came back, chances are he would shoot the place up. And fortunately that never happened, as it seemed he cooled off after the traffic stop. He said he ain't going nowhere without a ticket, which would probably be in the upper $500.00. I laughed and said "That's what the dumbass deserves!" Bob's poor kids and wife seemed so embarrassed and humiliated, their faces were red. The wife even asked Derek how she can pay her for the nonsense. And bless Derek's soul he said "no charges needed." I got a feeling that she filed for divorce the very next day. And we all went home shocked, but happy.
So if you are one of those assholes thinking your to cool or too good for a mask, or you think wearing a mask is a sign of weakness, think again. It isn't a sign of weakness, it is, as Lady Gaga said in the 2020 MTV Music Awards, it's a sign of respect!
