Rockstar and Take2: Here's some reasons you missed out on immense amounts of money by not architecting dedicated servers into your GTA/RDR2 multiplayer setup

This is mostly written in the GTA Online perspective, though it has crossover into RDR Online as well.
To bring everyone up to speed on network topology in games:
GTA Online uses what's called a peer-to-peer mesh network setup. This means that every PC/console on a connected session is talking to every other PC/console in that session. The preferred alternative for most multiplayer games is sever-client, where in every PC/console is talking with a single server.
With p2p mesh, this means that everyone shares authority. What this translates to is that a server is not the single authority checking for malicious activity, much of which anyone who has played GTA Online for is familiar with. This also means that anyone with the know-how can figure out what IP every other person is connecting from. This can lead to other malicious activity outside of the game.
But standing up dedicated servers costs money. Why not avoid that?
There are plenty of cases to be made where peer-to-peer connectivity makes sense, especially from a cost-savings perspective. But in some cases, like GTA Online, the benefits/gains from using a server-client setup far outweigh the costs.
So, in no particular order:

What Dedicated Servers Would Have Brought to RS/T2:

More purchases of cash in the Social store.
We'll start with the obvious here. When someone can get into a game and ask about [redacted method of obtaining money/goods/vehicles/XP] and get a response 50% of the time, it's an obvious miss on being able to purchase prepaid in-game credit cards from the store. There's no incentive. And if they don't want to ask someone to do it, they can do it themselves.
Nevermind that the same group of people who can [redacted method of obtaining money/goods/vehicles/XP] will also just grief sessions. Better yet:
Better Control on Hackers/Modders
Anyone who is on the outside of RDR2 or GTA multiplayer has probably only heard telltale of what modders do in these games. Here's a list of what I've personally experienced:
The list goes on. The biggest reason for using dedicated servers, honestly, is to get rid of the griefers. It's enough so that I've seen people ask if someone is running a specific type of mod, and they know the commands to use to get gifted vehicles, cash, etc. It's prolific and horrible.
But cleaning those things up and preventing them means:
Higher volume of Twitch streamers.
It seems easily correlated, but Twitch's research shows that livestreaming leads to better game sales. The reason this isn't streamed as broadly is because not everyone can get enough reliable people for a heist. Private sessions can be invaded by the same people who also [redacted method of obtaining money]. This is regardless of the privacy of a lobby, because those same people can find a unique identifier on the public Rockstar social site and join it, regardless of whether or not they're a friend or a crew member-- or simply not invited.
What this translates to are people who have such a low bar to pass to join a streamer's game and hold the experience hostage, crash the session or do any other number of malicious things. They can also impersonate people and send messages as them. So this further leads to things like not being able to do:
Twitch Rivals streams between competing streamer teams.
Imagine this: the game is pretty solidly protected from people who [redacted method of obtaining money] and those incidents they generate are rare, and when they do pop up, they're punished. So, streaming this game is far more viable. Competitive crews start forming, and Rockstar promotes an event with streamers where they're able to host lobbies and get 24, 36 or even 48 streamers in one session running 12 different crews for things like:
And so on and so forth. But because items have to be obtained through legitimate game mechanics, it also implements a grind. Maybe these groups/crews have been running for a while. But then you'd also be able to do:
Streamer Drops through Connected Accounts
We've seen other games do this, where viewers can get "drops" into their game by watching the streamer play it. These drops could have been literally anything that was on the Diamond Casino Wheel of Fortune. It could have even been a bonus spin at the wheel, to encourage getting the player in the game.
The Long-Term, Sharded MMO Experience
This translates to cash because people would be continually playing the game, which means more people paying for in-game cash and general popularity because more people would be streaming it, but this is the bigger buyback to the player, too.
Imagine a crew that worked hard at completing a certain set of heists on hard difficulty, no deaths, consecutive. Four people who are streaming their attempt like people do for raid bosses. And their reward was a unique yacht only available for that achievement.
A ranked arena war system that awarded players who got 100 wins with a unique vehicle or livery.
The system could have been adjusted to make some things a grind. Making that money with friends, and then knowing that if someone had a high-end apartment, much less a casino penthouse, that they earned it through blood, sweat and hard work.
Powerful crews that were running around and happen to land on the same lobby and an all-out war with tactics, reinforcements and a consideration of cash drain to get the win in Los Santos.
These are the things that Rockstar and Take2 missed out on by not having dedicated servers with protections against [redacted method of obtaining money]. They were on the verge of greatness. They were this close. And I know that a lot of this translates over for Red Dead Online, too.

Is It Too Late to Do All of This?

No, I don't think so. If RockstaTake2 were to seek redemption from this, here's what they'd have to do:
Implement a dedicated server gamemode, and only allow characters created for this game mode specifically.
If people want to continue messing around in peer-to-peer sessions, maybe they allow that for a time before slowly forcing people over (because it's all about that money, right?). But create a new character (or duplicate the looks of one), and make it only available for play on controlled, dedicated servers.
You can even put Ye Olde GTA 5 spin on it and have Lester come in and say, "Yeah, I know the simulation was pretty fucked, right? It got hacked by kids on Christmas break. But anyway, now that you know what's possible out there in this stupid, god-forsaken world, well... uh, perhaps it's time we started making some money. And you remember Fleeca, right?"
Then people start off fresh, and work on earning things through the grind. I promise you, that'll net you some untold money and viewership. And I have faith enough that even if you made a very solid push into authoritative client-host conversion from peer-to-peer mesh, allowing the authoritative client-host to be controlled by Rockstar servers, you'd get something out of it.
And I will put a disclaimer on here: I don't know if the game engine is so archaic that it wouldn't allow for this kind of change. And if that is indeed the case, then the only thing that I can say is you missed out on all of the above by choosing to design what you did, because it is a proprietary engine.
But if you can, imaginary Rockstar or Take2 directory reading this, please, I implore you. Push for the change. This has been one of the best social games for me during lockdown, and I can't overstate how much everyone will benefit from this.
Sincerely,
~The Village Idiot

A complete guide to making an easy 2-3 million every few hours by grinding the Casino Heist

–This is a guide mostly for new players. I'm sure anyone whose been playing this game for a few years knows all this–
I started playing GTA online roughly two months ago and I already have practically everything I wanted, just from grinding the casino heist over and over again.
It can get tedious, sure, but so can everything else in life. You just have to have a positive mindset and think of the reward at the end– all the jets, planes, cars, bikes, clothes etc...! PLUS I personally find the preps a lot more enjoyable than doing sell missions for the bunker or doing import/export over and over.
I'm doing this on mobile, so please excuse any formatting errors :)
Note– doing this with two people is always the most optimal way to make money. Give yourself a huge cut. You deserve it for doing all the preps.
•step one: buy an arcade in Las Santos. Don't buy the one in Paleto Bay because that long drive to the casino will drive you crazy if you do it enough.
•step two: do all your prep works/setups in an invite only session. Trust me, it makes life so much easier when you're not bring chased by an oppressor all the time.
•step three: you can shuffle the contents you get in the vault. –NOTE THAT YOU CAN ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED ALL THREE HEIST APPROACHES–. YOU DO NOT WANT CASH. Art is better than gold (in my opinion) purely because it's very easy to do with two people... meaning you can keep a much bigger cut for yourself. Gold is awesome, but I'll talk about that in a bit.
•step three (b): to shuffle the vault contents and try to get something other than cash; simply do the vault contents prep. When you go to the casino and access the security camera feed, find the camera which reveals what's inside the vault. If you get art or gold, perfect! If you get cash, identify the target and wait for Lester to stop talking. Back out of the camera and then call Lester. Cancel the heist BEFORE you leave the casino. Leave the casino and go to your arcade. You will then have to pay another 25,000 to setup the heist again. When you pay, you will notice that a target has already been identified and there's a chance that this target will be different to what you already had. It's random so you may have to do it again. If you get cash again, go outside, cancel the heist again, restart your system, setup the heist again and repeat the previous steps until you get a better target than cash :)
•step four: always choose either aggressive or the Gruppe Sechs approach. Silent and sneaky with randoms is a nightmare abs it's not worth the frustration. Only do silent and sneaky with friends or people with mics
•step five: in order to even unlock the Gruppe Sechs approach, you have to first do the scoping out prep. Go to the sewer tunnel entrance that's closest to the casino. Go down the tunnel and look to your right. You will see a large semi-circular shaped get made of steel poles. Take a picture of it and send it to Lester. This will unlock the group Sechs approach!
•step five (b): always pick the cheapest gunman, the cheapest car guy and the best hacker. The best hacker you can get is AVI and to unlock him, you have to destroy all the signal jammers around the city.
•step six: there are optional preps. Some you can always skip and some you should absolutely do. You should ALWAYS get the level 2 keycards because if not, you will have to deal with that awful hacking minigame involving circles. Save yourself the headache of dealing with it and always do that prep. There's no point in getting the masks for any approach.
•step six (b): If you are doing the aggressive approach, I would highly recommend doing the enhanced body armour prep, Duggan's shipments and the level 2 keycard prep. You can skip everything else that isn't mandatory. The enhanced body armour will make your life so much easier... trust me. Doing Duggan Shipments and getting all 10 will makes the guards extremely easy to kill and will give them weak weapons.
step six (c): for the Gruppe Sechs approach, I would recommend doing the level two keycards and getting the exit disguise. I personally recommend going for the firefighter outfits because they're easier to get OR if you have the time, you can collect 54 playing cards, unlock the high roller outfits and you can use those as an exit disguise instead. They'll be permanently unlocked, meaning you can skip the exit disguise in future if you have it. Those are really the only optional preps you need. Patrol routes might seem important, but it's not.
step seven: when you're finished in the vault, always exit through the staff entrance. This will leave you in a position with the least amount of noose and the best position to escape from and to get to your getaway vehicles.
step eight: get in any vehicle you can find. Doesn't have to be your getaway vehicles. Drive to the police station that's near the casino, climb to the roof and get in the helicopter. It's the fastest way to your destination and to lose the cops. To see a tutorial of how to do this, there a tonne of guides on YouTube :)
step nine: you're done! You just completed the heist. Now you have to wait about 5 to 10 minutes to receive a call or text from Lester, suggesting you to do the heist again. Now, just do all steps again and you can easily make 2-3 million in about three or four hours.
If I'm missing anything, please let me know :)

[A Beginner Friendly Casino Heist Guide] I decide to convert some of pain with randoms into this shareable

[A Beginner Friendly Casino Heist Guide] I decide to convert some of pain with randoms into this shareable
It is my first time composing a guide like this for GTA Online. So any criticism or suggestion is welcome! I really wish this can be helpful. There is a ton of wiki about it but I am just going to refine them into my own words.
Btw, this guide is not for people who is already a veteran. Casino heist is the easiest way to make a quick fortune so far because you can join a finale through your phone (although there is a cool down time between each). And you probably won't find any extreme method to maximize payout such as glitch. The main purpose of this article is help people have fun.
Scope Out
This is something you do once and for all. So there is no reason why you don't scope out all access points and P.O.I.. You can launch this mission every time when you are hosting the heist, but can only be done before selecting approach. There is plenty of Youtube videos about where to find them such as this.
Vault Content
Just to to the observatory and find 2 guys chatting. Sometimes they are at the front door but most of the time they are on the left side of building. One guy with a baseball cap and the other "bigger" guy with a cowboy hat. Start hacking through securoserv app while walk along with the guard while he takes a phone call. Don't run into or kill him cuz that will get cops on you. Hacking into security camera is easy so let's skip that (sometimes the Wi-Fi spot is in the restroom).
Casino Model & Door Security & Vault Door
All of them are complete waste of money. Casino model is purely decorative. If you want to practice hacking, just ask teammates or friends nicely to give you a shot in the vault or watch Youtube. And there is no need to practice drilling vault door because you are not on a time limit.
Before we jump into approaches, there is a prep mission called "Security Intel". It gives you all the camera vision without having to getting close to a camera. You will need to complete all Diamond Casino & Resort story missions as the host in order to unlock this mission. Once it's done, you don't have to do it again. The camera intel stays with you. JUST DO IT FOR VINCENT'S SAKE.
Prep Board
Next, I'm gonna tell you what each prep mission means and which optional missions are actually worth doing imo.
  • Silent & Sneaky
  1. Gunner: Hire the cheapest guy because you are not supposed to exchange fire anyway. There are two loadouts to choose from and both works great.
  2. Driver: Hire the cheapest guy because you don't need his help at all. This role is a fucking free rider and you will see why later. I always source Übermacht Sentinel Classic because it goes fast and handles the best. It matters in setup mission.
  3. Hacker: Hire Paige because she gives you more time in the vault. It's worth the investment. If you have Avi unlocked you can try him to. He takes 1% more cut but gives you 5 seconds more time in the vault when exposed and 3 more seconds when undetected. It's up to you whether he is worth it. To unlock Avi as hacker, you need to destroy all 50 signal jammers around the map in free mode. Youtube video guide is here.
  4. Patrol routes: It makes more enemies visible on mini map. I always do it but if you feel comfortable to skip it, I respect that.
  5. Duggan shipments: MUST DO! Because you are supposed to get head shot and without Duggan shipments gone, guards will wear bullet proof helmet. You want to have some kind of flying vehicle because targets are all over the map.
  6. Power drills: You wanna get it if you think there is enough time to hit deposit boxes AFTER grabbing all the main stuff.
  7. Security pass: ALWAYS GET LEVEL 2 SECURITY PASS! This saves you a ton of time from hacking key pads. You can cycle through this option to a picture with a valet and a dealer.
  8. Acquire masks: A complete waste of time.
  9. EMP device and infiltrate suits: The former cuts power out and the latter gives you nigh vision in dark as well as the ability to rappel down the elevator well when entering casino if you choose some doors near helipad as entrance. If you want to sneaky in or out more easily, go ahead and do both. I think it's not worth it. Gun is your best friend.
Planning Board
I usually chose staff lobby or waste disposal as entrance. But you must choose staff lobby as exit and select high level buyer. Staff lobby door is close to both sewer and nearby police station, and high level buyer gives you most pay. And DO NOT ever buy decoy or clean vehicle. They are total waste of money.
Finale
The general rule is DO NOT kill guards if they are not in your way, or patrolling to a dead body. Also watch out for cameras. You can only shoot down 1 camera. So just stun them. It can be difficult if teammates are not on mic cuz you might need to take down some guards in pairs. What I usually do is typing "Can someone please aim with me? You aim at right guy and I aim at left guy, then I fire right after you." in chat box. I found it works well as long as teammates read English. Probably many of you already knew this but you can hit daily vault twice both on your way in and out. The gate control is in security room. Another important note is that the guards will be able to see you though glass on doors, but they will not be able to see you through bullet proof glass around security room. As far as after getting into the vault, just make sure get your ass outta there before times counts down to 0. And also, elevator is for suicide only. TAKE THE STAIRS.
Then it's much easier. At this time you have not alerted anyone yet so turn to your right after getting out of casino. Check out the map below where I drew a route to a safe spot to jack a ride from NPC. You just need to make sure to knock out the first NOOSE on the left side of van, and knock out the second one patrolling the Lost club house. Don't shoot because that will alert them. After jacking a ride now you have 2 option. First is to go down the sewer where I marked with black circle, or steal a chopper on the helipad of nearby police station where I marked with red H. You can practice both in free mode in terms of where to go in the sewer and how to get to the helipad, but please bear in mind that sometimes the helicopter doesn't spawn. And ALWAYS turn left onto the highway from sewer exit because turning right will take you near to casino and that will get heat back on you.
Escape Route
  • Big Con
From easy to hard: Gruppe Sechs, Bug Star, LS Water & Power, Young Ancestor.
Prep Board
  1. Gunner: Hire the cheapest guy because you can't fire a bullet in casino. That will attract attention no matter where you are. The only way to kill anyone inside is knocking him out.
  2. Driver: Hire the cheapest guy, period.
  3. Hacker: Hire Paige or Avi.
  4. Entry disguise: Gruppe Sechs gives you a clean run without alerting anyone until you get back to stair well. But I personally find other disguise more exciting. You just need to watch some Youtube videos before try them out. Young Ancestor takes longest time and most challenging imo.
  5. Exit disguise: JUST DO IT. Without it, you will be hunted right after getting out of casino. Go get NOOSE or firefighter outfits. Firefighter mission is easier because you can call Lester to clear wanted level.
  6. Patrol routes: I would say this is not necessary if you are playing Gruppe Sechs, but highly recommended if you are using other entry disguise because you are dealing with more enemies.
  7. Duggan shipments: Not necessary at all! Since no shots will be fired, their protective gear doesn't do any use against knocking out.
  8. Power drills: Same as other approaches.
  9. Security passes: LEVEL 2!
  10. Masks: Nobody cares.
Planning Board
This is the same as silent and sneaky approach.
Finale
There is nothing complicated about big con especially Gruppe Sechs. Just check your map for guards that are hostile. Guards and cameras marked in red circles are hostile while white color indicates "friendly". After making up to the ground level, you will want to circle to the back area and knock 1 guy out. Then make your way to laundry room and change your outfit. After that you can walk outta there like a boss.
Once you are out of casino, it's the same deal as silent & sneaky.
  • Aggressive
Unarguably the only approach to play with randoms lmao. But you do get less time in vault and will lose take from getting shot at.
Prep Board
  1. Gunner: This can be flexible depending on your shooting skill. The cheapest guy already have automatic weapon so that's good enough for me. Go for better gunners if you enjoy shootout.
  2. Driver: Do I need to say that again?
  3. Hacker: Yeah one of those two.
  4. Patrol routes: Nobody cares because it will be loud.
  5. Duggan shipments: Let me say this, if you don't do it, it will take a full clip of mags with headshot to take down 1 guard. GET IT DONE!
  6. Power drills: There is less time in vault so I usually skip this unless it's a crew of 4.
  7. Security passes: If you don't get a level 2 pass then you are out of your mind.
  8. Acquire masks: Literally no one cares.
  9. Reinforced armor: It works like heavy heist suits in OG heists. It gives you more health but makes you run slower. If you have Duggan shipments wiped out then this is totally unnecessary. If there are rookie in your team then you might wanna get it.
  10. Boring machine: This is a super effective prep mission as it allows you to enter vault level through sewer directly. But you have to have this particular access point scouted first.
Planning Board
To get in and out faster, you would still want to choose staff lobby. But entering through main entrance is more dramatic and funny. And for the last time I have to say, DON'T WASTE MONEY ON DECOY OR CLEAN VEHICLE!.
Finale
There is really no need to explain anything here. But some people do take a different route after getting out of casino, which is around the inside of race track. You can still stick the the route I provided earlier but you might encounter 2 or 3 more cops on your way to jacking an NPC ride.
Ok guys, go watch some Youtube videos and read some other guides if you have not done this before. I really wish you have fun out there and not waste other players' time by reading my beginner friendly guide. Casino heist is definitely worth playing because R* created this based on all the lessons learned from previous guides. It will be likely to be the template of next generation of GTA Online, which is just 20 years away!

Diamond Casino Heist Guide + TIPS - Written by /u/DatCamaroGuy

Diamond Casino Guide:
So you decided that you wanna rob a casino, great! The Diamond Casino Heist is one of the best ways to earn money, but you're wondering, how do I get started? Well, you're in luck! This guide is going to teach you the ways to get the best out of the Diamond Casino Heist!
Step 1: Arcade
Alright to get started, you’re going to have to own an arcade. Now, it may seem better to go for the arcades on the top of the map to save yourself some cash, however, this will make all the preps much harder, as most of them take place in LS or Sandy Shores.
The best arcade locations are 8-bit ($2,530,000, located in Vinewood) and Videogeddon ($1,875,000, La Mesa). When buying your arcade, none of the upgrades are necessary, as most of them are cosmetic. You’ll have to complete a quick arcade setup mission to access the basement where the diamond casino heist planning board is located.
Step 1.5: Arcade Income
While this isn’t related to the diamond casino heist, I thought I would put this in there. The arcade generates income based on how many games you have, going up to 5k per in-game day (48 min). The game doesn't matter, so you can just buy the cheapest one (Monkey’s Paradise, $90,000) and fill up your arcade with it.
Step 2: Scope out casino
After you’ve finished watching Lester scribble a big mess over the whiteboard, you’ll be able to start the casino heist. Normally, you’ll have to pay a setup cost of 25k, but since it’s your first time doing it, it’ll be free. After you’ve confirmed that you want to start the casino heist, you’ll need to finish the scope out mission. For the scope out mission, you’ll need to take a variety of pictures for Lester in order to unlock entrances for the heist. A full guide is linked here but I’ll sum up the most important ones.
You’ll only need to do this mission once, and it will be completed for all future casino heists.
Step 3: Vault Contents
The vault contents mission is pretty easy. You’ll be given the rough location of a Duggan security guard, once you find him, you can either hack him, which can take some time but you won’t get the cops on you if you do it right, or you can kill him and grab the phone, which will save you some time but you’ll need to lose the cops before you can enter the casino.
After you’ve entered the casino, you’ll need to bring out the sightseer app on your phone to find a wifi signal. After you’ve located the wifi signal, you’ll need to figure out the vault contents. Beware that you only have a limited time to do this (2 min).
Since it’s probably your first time, I would recommend that you go through every camera to scope out each POI. The target will be cash since it’s your first time, which has a payout of 2.1 mil on normal. The first time will always be cash (payout of $2,115,000 on normal), but if it’s not your first time, the targets can be either cash, artwork (payout of $2,350,000 on normal) or gold (payout of $2,585,000 on normal).
There is a 4th target, which is diamonds (payout of $3,257,100 on normal) however this vault content is only available for special occasions and has been removed from the vault contents.
If you do the heist on hard by doing the same approach after you’ve done another one, the payout will be 10% larger. If you’ve completed all 3 approaches to the heist, you can cancel the heist which can be helpful if you’ve got a bad target. Link to this is here.
Step 4: Selecting your approach
Once you’ve finished the vault contents mission, you’ll be able to select your approach.
There are 3 approaches to the diamond casino heist. Silent and Sneaky, The Big Con and Aggressive.
For beginners, I would recommend alternating between Big Con and Aggressive, because those are the easiest ones. For Big Con, choose the Gruppe Sechs disguise for the easiest entry. Aggressive is good for newer players however it does end up in a lot of money loss. After you’ve got the gist of it, alternate to doing Silent and Sneaky in place of aggressive for a bigger payout.
Step 5: Selecting your support crew
After you’ve selected your approach, you’ll need to select your support crew before you can do any of the prep missions.
Selecting your support crew is very simple. You’ll need a gunman to source guns, a driver to source cars, and a hacker to delay the nerve agent inside the vault.
Selecting your support crew depends on the approach and target in the vault. For Big Con, SnS, any target EXCEPT for art, you’ll want the worst gunman (Karl Abolaji, take his Micro SMG on big con, heavy revolver on aggressive and on SnS the choice is up to you), the worst driver (Karim Denz, take his sentinel classic) and the best hacker available to you, for most people, this will be Paige Harris (unlocked when the Terrorbyte is purchased, gives 3:25 in the vault when undetected and 2:23 detected).
For aggressive, you’ll still want to have the worst driver and best hacker, however, the gunman is up to you since you’ll be using guns a lot. I normally go with Charlie Reed (unlocked when purchasing a hangar), he takes a 7% cut (2% more than Karl) and gives you an assault SMG, however, you can get by with Karl, as every gunman gives you an SMG to go along with another weapon, which is still a perfectly fine weapon.
For Big Con, SnS and the target is Art, if you and your heist partner can both hack very well, you can get by with Yohan Blair (takes a 5% cut and gives you 2:51 in the vault if you are undetected and 2:01 if you are).
Step 5.5: Secret heist crew members
There are 2 hidden heist crew members that can’t be unlocked by purchasing a business like most heist crew members. There 2 are Patrick McReary and Avi Schwartzman. Patrick McReary is a gunman who takes an 8% cut and gives the choice a Combat MG or an Assault Shotgun in aggressive. Avi Schwartzman is a hacker that takes a 10% cut and gives 3:30 undetected in the vault and gives 2:22 if you are detected. To unlock Patrick, he spawns as a random event around the map. He spawns in a police car that you will need to hijack. A guide is linked here. To unlock Avi, you’ll need to destroy 50 signal jammers that are located around the map. A guide is linked here.
Step 6: Prep Missions
Now that you’ve selected your support crew, you’ll be presented with a plethora of prep missions. Some mandatory and some optional. To complete these missions, I suggest that you use a Kuruma, Buzzard, or Oppressor Mk2 to make your life easier. In some prep missions, you will not be able to call Lester, so be prepared. All of the missions can be done solo but it makes it easier if you have a friend with you to help you out.
Now onto the optional prep missions. Optional prep missions, are, as the name suggests, optional. The optional prep you should do depends on the approach. If you own a penthouse and have completed all of the missions, you will gain access to the security intel mission. It’s very easy to complete and you will only need to do it once. A nice trick is that the gauntlet actually spawns when you start the mission, not when the cutscene is triggered, so you can just shoot the driver and take the gauntlet. A guide will be linked below.
Let’s start with Silent and Sneaky. For Silent and Sneaky, the optional prep missions depend on your skill level. If you’re an experienced player, you don’t need to do much, only level 2 security passes. Power drills you can do if you think you have enough time. However, if you are a very new player, I’d recommend that you do patrol routes, Duggan shipments (you only need to destroy 3 to get rid of their bulletproof helmets), level 2 security passes, emp device and infiltration suits and power drills if you think you have enough time. If you do all these, the heist should be a breeze.
Going onto the Big Con, if you’re doing Gruppe Sechs, you don't need to do much. You only need to go through one door if you exit out the staff door, so you can decide if you want to do level 2 security passes or not. Patrol routes do make things easier, however are not necessary. Again, only do power drills if you think you have enough time. Make sure you do exit disguises. Noose and firefighter are exactly the same, so do firefighters since it has an easier mission.
For aggressive, again, patrol routes make it easier but are never necessary. Make sure to do Duggan shipments. You can solo it, but it will be much easier with another person. If you don’t get them all you can just close the game and you’ll be able to do the mission again. Reinforced armor allows you to take more damage, so I would recommend it even if it makes you slower. Be sure to also do boring machine as it allows you to enter through the sewers. Make sure to also do level 2 security passes unless you really like hacking doors.
Step 7: Finding people to play with
Now that you’ve completed all your required prep missions, you need some people to play with. If you don’t have any friends to play with, I recommend checking out HeistTeams or the GTAO Discord LFG Channels to find people to play with. Make sure to have good communication between your teammates otherwise the heist will be in chaos.
Step 8: Completing the heist
Now that you’ve got a solid heist crew waiting to grab all of that sweet loot out of the casino’s vault, you’ll be able to start the heist. If you're doing aggressive, the plan is pretty simple, shoot your way in, grab the loot, then shoot your way out. The easiest entry for aggressive is sewers, and the easiest exit is the eastern roof terrace. If you exit through the staff lobby, you’ll get shot a ton when going over the racetrack, however, if you exit through the roof terrace, you can shoot the guys behind the stones on the racetrack then safely parachute down.
For The Big Con, I’m going to assume you’re doing the Gruppe Sechs approach. By doing the Gruppe Sechs approach, you can pretty much waltz into the vault and back out of it, just be careful that this has some limitations. When going back up the stairwell/elevator to the casino access floor, the guards will have checked the vault and know it’s been robbed, so you disguise ain't gonna work anymore. I strongly suggest getting exit disguises, as they will greatly help your escape. The easiest exit for this is the staff lobby.
For SnS, I’m not really going to go into too much detail here because there’s a full video linked below. What I will talk about is when to use the emp (If you did the prep mission). I recommend emp’ing when you’re at the vault access floor, allowing you to waltz into the mantrap, or when you're coming back up to the casino access floor and are in the mantrap. Be warned that if you decide to get the daily vault when you trigger the emp, the emp’s timer will run out before you can get to your exit, so plan ahead. The easiest entrance for this is the staff lobby and the easiest exit is also the staff lobby.

Was kicked out of lobby during setup mission, can't join online since. How screwed am I? (More context below)

Obligatory sorry for my English and possible tandems, not my mother tongue.
I'll start the story an hour or two before the fact which inspired this post, to explore the reason why I believe this is happening. Will provide a notice for the actual disconnection and such.
Build-up: So I was playing with a few friends, selling our MC businesses since it's 2x GTA$ this week. We managed to sell a friend's coke, meth and cash and then rotated to mine. I figured we could sell my bunker first since the MC businesses weren't completely full yet so we started to do that.
We start my delivery and notice a message in the chat from a player summoning possible griefers to downtown LS to ruin everyone's cargo deliveries and whatnot. We were doing the signal jammer delivery so with some strategic planning (voice chat rules) we managed to steer clear of too much danger (also had a friend protecting us with a Mk.II Oppressor just in case).
We manage to complete that, and start doing my coke. Things were about to turn ugly. We get the LS airport Buzzard delivery so it was pretty much guaranteed that we'd lose at least one chopper. We did lose at least one; in fact we lost two.
At that point we were super triggered and decided to take advantage of our numbers (4 of us + 3 friendly players vs 2 griefers) and have some fun ourselves.
We all take our best vehicles and weapons under one condition which was no Mk.II Oppressors since we're not animals. I rain hell from above with my Molotok while the others use a Savage and high-powered Mk.II weapons.
Long story short we made the griefers quit the session but a friend had to go as well (time zones suck) so we then decided to do casino preps for back-to-back-to-back gold as 3.
The disconnection: I start doing my casino preps when all of a sudden I get disconnected from the session. This felt weird though; usually when you -let's say- time out, your character freezes and everything stops around you, then your HUD disappears and you eventually get the error message.
"Huh", I say, "that's odd" and start joining back to my friends' session. Only this time I get greeted with "Couldn't find a suitable session, please join a different session" or something along those lines (tbh I only got this for the first time today and can't exactly remember what it said, was too absorbed in the situation to keep photo evidence as well).
After a bit of loading I get the message "Couldn't join session, returning to GTA: V". This happened a total of 4-5 times until I decided I've had enough for the day and quit the game. My friends never had this issue.
So that brings me to my question(s): Could this be the dirty work of a hackemodder? And, if so, could it be related to the guys I mentioned in the first part of this post? They certainly weren't using cheats in the session so could they have gotten a friend of theirs to mess with my account/game? I have a pretty easy-to-remember IGN. Could they have used the infamous new modding tool to funk me up?
TL,DR: Was selling MC businesses, griefer wanted to mess with us, we messed back. Shortly after, my game lost connection to the online services. Correlation or just chance?

MASSIVE SECURITY ISSUES WITH HACKERS!

So, as we all know Rockstar cares little for the PC gaming community when it comes to hackers and game exploits. While some get upset that there hasn't been any new content for Red Dead 2 and Gaming media outlets choose to write about how players are turning into clowns in game because of it, I am over here wondering when Rockstar will stop going to strip clubs while bullying their employees and get them to work on their games serious issues. GTA V online for me was a mega disaster with one of my first experiences of a whale falling from the sky, crushing me under its weight and killing me. Then being spawned into a multi color changing car that can fly with the hacker shooting money out of the back. I tried my best to avoid hackers but it ruined the game for me in the end. I came back to GTA V when they released the casino and my first time back in I had a hacker forcefully enter my apartment, put me in a cage, and kicked me from the server...... Great stuff Rockstar!
So how does this relate to RED DEAD 2? Well today I encountered two hackers who blasted my horse with explosive rounds and hogtied me up. I tried to play along in a way that wouldn't complete ruin my time and the hacker turned into a giant albino alligator. He ordered me to squeal like a pig and he will reward me. Now I have had hackers take skins I have harvest from my hand and somehow alter the upkeep time for your horse to a dollar every second, maliciously taking most of my money, so I just went along and squealed to see what he would do. He turned into a breast-less woman with no legs and untied me and told me to open a box which gave me a bunch of money. This hackers name was George Floyd and he kept saying Black Lives didn't matter and then somehow knew exactly what City and State I lived in. SOOOOOO this racist hacker somehow knows where I live which means that Rockstar doesn't give two shits about your privacy and security. Rockstar has the most compromised security system of all time! I have never and will never spend money on in game currency and now I don't trust that a random person can just get my IP and DOX my ass. Fuck more content fix this shit first now! Imagine it getting more out of hand and people actually getting full blown doxxed? Lawsuits for days!

30/7/20 Weekly GTA Online Bonuses + Meeting The New Moderators And Reviewing The Rules:

Here is the link to the weekly GTA Online Bonuses:
Hi, it's your new neighborhood moderator u/7DeadlyFetishes, along with u/CausticPenguino, u/PapaXan, u/Dan6erbond, u/Tonan, u/Brooksy925, and u/LesterCrestBot! Over the pass few days we've been fine tuning the bot for faster and easier moderation, and taking a more active role in community content curation.
We're making this announcement post both to introduce the new mods to the community but also outline the moderation discipline that we'll be enforcing, and we encourage you all to follow along so that our rules can be universally understood by all. The more informed you are on rules, and less likely your going to have to deal with us!
Rule 1 - Overused Content And Content Relevancy
From here on out Rule 1 will be the most strictly enforced rule, given that reason us mods were invited to join the team in the first place was the rapid amount of content flooding gtaonline, with most of those submissions relying on overused memes, discussions topics, and questions.
Below is a list of common submissions and topics that are now banned from the discussion space on gtaonline, this list is vast and very broad right now given the state the of subreddit, but we'll probably unban and/or loosen our grip on memes and topics as time goes on, but that's only if users like you bring a new angle or discussion point when it comes to a particular subject.

-Rule 1 Continued - Content Submissions That Will Result in Immediate Removal:
-Discussions related to the Oppressor often fall into two camps, where one group likes it because it helps grinders, and the other group despise it for it's toxic nature. for two straight years that has been the discussion about the Oppressor, and we doubt that the range of conversation related to the vehicle is going to be expanding anytime soon.

-Hating tryhards and greifers is equivalent to hating people who kick very small, fragile, cute animals. It's not a controversial position to dislike toxic individuals, and if anything, the relentless whining and complaining around these players only emboldens them more to just to get a reaction out of you chumps. This also extends to K/D ratio and EWO.

-If this subbreddit was developer supported like the likes of FortNiteBR, where the devs can talk and communicate with the community about ideas for the game or improving issues with the game, then this complaining wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately that is not the case, and whining about expensive prices for vehicles and properties is some secret plot to sell more Sharkcards is a reasonable observation but falls on deaf ears. No one at Rockstar is getting owned by your epic may-may about how the servers are trash, so save your breath and avoid the ban.

-Y'all know who I'm talking about, no amount of trolling, petitions, or stupid memes is going to make him go away. Most if not all of his base of viewers are not subscribed, they're casual watchers who probably are not deeply invested in GTA Online like the rest of us, so there's not much one can do to prevent him from accruing views besides NOT giving him any attention. Remember that there's no such thing as bad publicity.

-Let's get the record straight, while it's true that Rockstar sees the potential of GTA Online for the cash cow that it is; that doesn't necessarily correlate with the fact that GTA 6 hasn't been announced yet for the next generation. RDR2 was released just nearly 2 years ago, and game development is more complex then ever before. The reason why Rockstar was able to deliver yearly games was the fact that 3 of the 5 console releases of GTA were running on the same engine, from 2001. The GTA 6 discourse is less "discussion" and more "hate-jerking," therefore we see the topic as invaluable clutter discussion.

-Finally in a list too large to cover in detail, here is an album of 30 unique images and submissions that have been circulated on the subreddit since it's inception. These memes are been beaten to death like our good friend Johnny Klebitz at the beginning of Trevor's story arc. A general rule of thumb for interested posters in our subreddit: If you see a gta meme on a platform that is not reddit, there's a 110% percent chance that meme has already been featured on gtaonline.

-Rule 1 Continued - Discussion Topics And Ideas That Will be Removed Immediately:
-Similar to the ban list above, many users on this subreddit love to engage in brain storming new ideas for the game, and while we actively encourage community engagement, this roundup of ideas and discussion topics have been done to death, and therefore we'll be seeking action to take them down.

-Won't happen.

-The Rockstar Games studio doens't have a big red flashing button on the wall that says, "Release GTA 5 Single Player DLC," content like that takes an entire studio to developm it's pipe dreams.

-Many missions both in story mode and in online take place, under, inside, and on top of the tower, and while it wouldn't be impossible for Rockstar to remove these missions, the simple truth of the matter is that Rockstar wanted a construction set piece in Los Santos, it was never meant to be finished. Besides, in game story lore states that the tower wasn't being built fast enough because construction was purposely trying to get contract extensions to get more money out of the investors.

-Won't happen.

-Won't happen.

-Rockstar has stated multiple times that the what makes a GTA game a GTA game is the dynamic of criminal versus police, cops and robbers, and much less a cops and robbers DLC was explicitly stated by Rockstar to never happen because it conflicts with the core dynamic of the game.

-I'm unaware of how large GTA Online's dev team is; but it most certainly isn't large enough to add an entire fucking map to a 7 year old game, much less an online game. These are not realistic suggestions, it's all just the community hyping itself up for speculation, which is not valuable discussion.

-Fun ideas for sure, but these have been suggested multiple times, and will probably never occur.

-So help me god if one of you neanderthals suggest this fucking idea again i'll personally find you and rip off your head and shit down your neck. Either spin the wheel and remember when you spun it or not spin it at all because the sheer volume of these posts vastly surmount that of actual change on Rockstar's end of the bargain.

-Rockstar has never even dabbled with servers dynamics before, what makes you think that they're going to change that now?

In Summary of The Rule 1 Discipline
-To round off the what the Mod Discipline will be for rule 1, if you don't want your posts removed or even for you to get banned, just use a little more brain power than what your using right now. There's plenty to talk about the game without having to conform to broad community topics.

Rule 2 - Be Respectful
-This is as simple as it comes, but it has to be stated, don't be a dick to other users on the subreddit. If for example you see someone posting a picture of the new car they won at the podium wheel, don't write a 5 paragraph essay on why they should have been aborted for posting their lucky break at the casino wheel. Instead, just report it and move on. And if you see anyone else giving another a hard time, do your duty and report toxic users, this is a safe community and we want to celebrate GTA Online for everyone, not scare people away for pedantic reasons.

Rule 3 - Use Appropriate Flair
-Use the correct flair, we never had a problem with it before, so lets keep it that way.

Rule 4 - Use Descriptive Titles
-Many of the posts that we have to moderate come in the form of questions, many of these question often lack any direction whatsoever, "Best Business?" or "How to do Casino Heist" leave lots to the imagination, and likewise people who are googling answers to their GTA Online inquiries also benefit from descriptive Reddit titles. In short, make good titles, otherwise your post is out.

Rule 5 - Suggestion Posts
-Suggestion posts must contain some initial discussion by the OP, preferably in the form of a text post. Images can be linked in the post content but cannot comprise the entirety of your post. "DAE want this vehicle" posts should be posted as comments in the Weekly Simple Question thread.

Rule 6 - No Promotion of Cheating
-Active promotion of cheating (the deliberate use of cheats, hacks, mods, exploits, glitches, and other methods to gain an unfair advantage over other players or at the expense of other players' right to a fair game experience) will result in a permanent ban. No asking for modded money or for help regarding cheating. Admissions of cheating may be removed at the moderators' discretion. Purely cosmetic glitches that do not affect other players are allowed.

Rule 7 - No Heist Recruitment
-Cream of the crop can be found here.

Rule 8 - Youtube Content
-Read this post to understand what types of YouTube content are allowed to be posted.

Rule 9 - "Looking For Players" Posts Should Include Relevant Information
-LFP posts should include platform information, in-game name, timezone, and other information where applicable.

Rule 10 - Questions Better Suited For The FAQ
-Do not make a post just to ask questions about the following topics:
These types of questions must be posted in the Weekly Question Thread.

Rule 11 - Moderation Discretion
-Moderators reserve the right to approve, remove, lock or otherwise deal with any post or comment at our discretion. Moderators reserve the right to ban users at our discretion. Rules are enforced according to their spirit and not their letter. Users are welcome to appeal moderator actions with respectful arguments, but moderators have the final say in how rules are interpreted and actions carried out.

Closing Remarks
-We have long road ahead of us, so if we're going to make the subreddit a better place it requires a strong mod/user relationship, as the moderators, we're going to use every tool at our disposal to make sure that all the content on the subreddit is informative and enjoyable, and you dear user have the responsibility of reporting questionable content and making quality posts. Together we can make this subreddit a better place, and with a new update over the horizon there's no other better place for information, memes and the community than gtaonline!

Diamond Casino Heist Ultimate Guide

Diamond Casino Heist Ultimate Guide

Hello everybody!

The new Casino Heist has been out for over 2 weeks now and there is probably already plenty of guides about it on YT, but I've wanted to make my own guide for a while now and finally think that I have enough experience to make one. I have played the Casino Heist about 30 times now (lost count at 10) and played all the 3 different approaches with a friend, so anything I say about the finale in this guide will be doable with just 2 guys, unless I specifically say so.
Keep in mind this is not a completely flawless guide, I will keep improving and editing it whenever I learn something new. I hope this guide can help you fly through the Preps and have no problems doing the Finale.

1: The Basics
2: Vault contents
3: Approaches
4: Crew
5: General Prep Work
6: Approach specific prep
  1. Silent approach
  2. Big Con approach
  3. Aggressive approach
7: Silent Finale
8: Big Con Finale
9: Aggressive Finale
10: Tips and tricks

1: The Basics

  • First of all, do the Preps in a solo public lobby. Theres no reason not to do them in a solo public lobby since others can only affect your experience in a bad way, unlike selling MC stock where you will get a bonus for every player in the lobby. (Guide for making solo public lobbies here)
  • Of course you can do the prep missions with a friend, that way you can avoid having to go to a certain place twice in some prep missions, but it's not neccesary. If you and a friend both do your prep missions simultaneously, you will be able to do 2 Finales in 2 hours if you are experienced in doing the missions. If you don't have any friends to do the preps with, don't worry, they're all doable completely alone and shouldn't be a problem to a decent player.
  • Now for Arcade locations. Of course I have to talk about Pixel Pete's in Paleto Bay. If you plan on doing the Casino Heist multiple times for a good income of large amounts of money, invest the cash from your first couple of runs from Paleto Bay into a proper arcade. I own the Videogeddon arcade in La mesa (~1,8 million), which is the cheapest in LS, but imo the 8-bit arcade (~2,6 million) is the best since its basically on the same road as the Casino and its garage is way more accesible than the La Mesa one since over there you have to drive around to the back to get into the Garage (Always enter your arcade through the garage entrance, it saves a lot of time compared to going through the front door, into the management office and through the secret tunnel) Either way they are both viable choices, but you should forget about the other ones in LS.
  • Vehicle choice. Obviously the Oppressor Mk II is your best friend for most of the prep missions, but there are plenty other viable alternatives. The Buzzard can be spawned in directly in front of you via CEO vehicles (if you own one it's free, otherwise it costs 25k per spawn) The issue with the Buzzard is its armor. After taking a couple shots, and trust me, you will, your Buzzard will start to smoke and will then stop working within ~5 minutes. The Akula is another very viable choice, especially when looking at the fact that you will have to lose the cops a lot (the memes are true). It also has fast firing homing rockets (don't use the rocket barrage, it's useless for grinding purposes) which will also help (it has infinite (?) rockets so running out of them won't be an issue, unlike the Oppressor, which only has 20) The Hydra is another hidden gem for the prep missions, if you can fly it well that is. Keep in mind that when using bulky vehicles like Helicopters or jets, the La Mesa arcade will be even worse since you have to land on the road and walk around the back of the arcade, whilst with the oppressor you can just fly straight into the back alley.
  • Hard finales. After doing a certain approach, that approach will be locked for the next heist. After doing another heist with a different approach, the approach first used will become available again with a red skull signalizing it will be on hard. Choose your 2 favourite approaches (information about the approaches below) and do them back to back, as playing the heist on hard will of course result in the loot being worth more. Don't worry about the heist being to difficult on hard, the only differences for the 2 sneaky approaches is the amount of fingerprints during hacks and for the loud approach the improved armor will be more than enough to make the heisdt a cakewalk.
  • I recommend purchasing the keypad at the prep board and training your fingerprint hacking skills on there. Trust me, you'll want to be fast when it comes to hacking the keypads. I get the hacks done in about 15 seconds and that is usually fast enough to get all the loot I want.

2: Vault contents

Alright, now for the interesting part, the vault contents. You probably know by now that Cash is the worst option. The best option in terms of money is Gold, while artwork takes significantly less time to loot. If you plan on doing the heist as a 2-man team, aim for artwork, if you are more than 2, go for gold. Forget about Cash.
So how do you influence what loot the vault contains? When doing the scoping out the vault mission, you will be able to see what the vault contains. If it's what you want, then good for you, you may leave the casino and move on to selecting the approach and crew. If however the vault contains cash or whatever loot you don't want, you can "change" the vault contents like this:
  1. Leave the camera
  2. Call Lester WHILST STILL IN THE CASINO
  3. Cancel the Casino Heist
  4. Leave the Casino and go back to your arcade
  5. Pay another 25k to start the heist again
The vault content will already be revealed. If it however still contains the unwanted loot, leave your arcade, call Lester to cancel the heist again, re-enter your arcade, start the heist for 25k again. You will then have to do the vault content mission again and if it still isn't the wanted loot, you may repeat the tactic above.
Don't worry about the 25k that you'll pay each time you restart the heist, good compared to artwork is worth about 200k more so you will have plenty of chances before losing money.
The following describes a controversial glitch that may be used to gain more loot than you're meant to, if you don't want to do this glitch, then you don't have to, but some people will obviously want to do this.
For the glitch, you need the vault to contain Gold. I would usually write this in the finale section but this may influence your decision on what loot to pick so I see this as a more fitting place to write it.
When inside the vault, the gold will be stored on several carts across the vault.
  1. Go up to one and press E to start collecting the gold.
  2. Collect every bar but stop at the last one
  3. Press right click to stop the looting whilst there is still loot on the cart
  4. Wait 2-3 seconds infront of the cart
  5. Press E to start looting again
Voila, the cart will be full with gold again and you may now collect all the bars. This can only be done once for each cart, so after "filling up the cart" once you can collect all the loot off of it without losing anything. This way you can get up to ~3,7 million worth of gold. You will be able to collect more but the rest won't be added to your total, so you might aswell stop at that amount and leave the vault.

3: Different Approaches

1: Silent and sneaky
This approach involves you sneakily going into the casino with silenced weapons, sneaking your way to the vault and then getting out undetected again. I recommend playing this with people that are willing to communicate. I'm not saying you shouldn't pick this if you have to play with randoms, just make sure they are capable of cooperating before you start the heist.
The pros of this approach are that you will have ~3:25 minutes inside the vault and that you wont get shot (hopefully) so you wont lose any loot. This approach also lets you casually empty out the secondary vault opened via the security center (more about that in the finale section)
The obvious cons are that you need to have teammates capable of cooperating so they wont rush in, alert the guards and make you lose your sanity. The detection system is also very inconsistent and things that you might think wont alert the guards will turn out to do so, sometimes.
For this approach I recommend getting the artwork loot if you are just 2 players and gold (w/o glitch) if you are more than 2
The prep missions that may be skipped for this approach are:
  1. Power drills, since the lockboxes inside the vault don't pay that much and it takes time to drill them open that can be used to loot the main contents
2: Big Con
You enter the casino in disguise and get out in disguise, making you lose no loot from being shot like in the silent approach.
First of all, USE THE GRUPPE SECHS UNIFORMS. For the gruppe sechs uniforms to becaome available, you have to photograph the security tunnel of the casino (see image below) By using the gruppe sechs outfit, you can walk straight into the vault without needing to kill anyone.

Service tunnel location
This is in my opinion the best approach since you can easily stay undetected the whole time and it leaves very little chance of failure by stupidity and gives you the full 3:25 minutes inside the vault for looting.
Recommended loot is once again Artwork for 2 people, Gold for 3-4 people.
The prep missions that may be skipped are:
  1. Patrol Routes. You will only have to kill a maximum of 2 guards and they will be near enough to pop up on your radar anyway
  2. Duggan shipments. You will kill the 2 security guards with melee since your weapons don't have stabilizers and their armor doesn't save them from melee attacks.
  3. Power drills, again, since the effort of drilling the lockboxes is not worth it most of the time
3: Aggressive
The most barebones approach involves you shooting your way through the casino and blowing the vault open. This is the easiest approach to do with randoms and can even be done with level 10s who just got their first million.
I recommend photographing the sewer entrance to shorten the way that you have to fight your way through (see image below)

Sewer location
The recommended loot is always artwork since you won't have as mcuh time in the vualt, so the faster you get all the loot the better.
The prep missions that may be skipped for this approach are:
  1. Power drills, obviously since you have less time inside the vault.

4: Crew

Crew choice, seems like a hard decision, really isn't. You basically want to pick the cheapest crewmembers who give you the best hardware.
1: Gunman
Karl Abolaji. For every approach. This might seems like a stupid decision seeing as he only gives you a sawed-off shotgun or heavy revolver for the loud approach, but you will actually get an SMG aswell, which is very usuable for the loud approach. If you don't feel comfortable with just an SMG, Pick either Patrick McReary or Gustavo Mota. Packie will of course be very hard to unlock (Guide to unlocking Packie here) but he will give you a combat MG for only 8% of the cut, whilst Gustavo Mota will give you a Carbine OR Assault shotgun (with the SMG) for 9%
For Silent and Big Con, Karl will give you Micro-MPs, which are more than capable of doing their job, that being killing guards in the silent approach. For Big Con, you could actually play completely without weapons since you only need to melee 2 guards.
2: Driver
Probably the least important crewmember. Some people don't even use the getaway cars provided. So of course, pick Karim Denz. He will be able to source oyu the Sentinel Classic, which is a more than capable Car for getting to the needed places (more information about getaway in the finale section) for the smallest cut.
Of course you may choose other drivers if you want to unlock the trade price for any of the vehicles.
3: Hacker
The most important crewman. Really the only viable choice is Avi Schwartzman, who can be unlocked by destroying the 50 signal jammers spread around San Andreas (Guide for 50 jammers here) He will give you the most time in the vault (Paige is an "expert" hacker aswell but she will give you ~15 seconds less inside the vault) Don't even think about all the other hackers, the hacker is no place to cheap out.

Ideal crew layout

5: General Prep Work

Alright, in this section I'll go over all the prep missions and give some tips and hints on what to do and what not to do and what vehicles work best. First of all, don't buy any of these preps for 70k, they're all somewhat easy to do and shouldn't be a problem for a solo player.
1: Untraceable weapons
This mission is be annoying but also easy. There are lumtiple types of this mission, and whilst none of them are a true challenge, they can be annoying to do since you have to either fly/drive a slow vehicle or collect 2 crates.
  • Noose Vans: There will be 4 Noose vans around the map and you have to blow the back door off to check for the weapons. You cannot lock onto the vans with homing missiles, so you either have to have good aim or use stickybombs in a ground vehicle. After finding the right one, you have to take it back to your arcade, after losing a wanted level. The annoying thing is, you cannot call Lester to lose that wanted level and the Van is very slow, I recommend driving through a tunnel where the cops cannot go to lose them.
  • I/E crew: You have to fly to the shore and find A couple of guys exporting the weapons, just blow them up or murder them any way, get in the Tula and fly to Sandy Shores airfield. When taking off in the Tula, switch to VTOL mode and gain some forward speed and altitude before switching to normal flying.
  • Lost MC/Vagos: You have to go to the clubhouse of the Vagos or Lost, clear the hostiles, find the weapons inside the clubhouse and bring them to your arcade. You will probably die the first couple times you try this mission, but you'll get the hang of it eventually. If you get the Lost MC mission and you have an arcade in LS, I recommend just finding a new session if you're alone since flying to Paleto Bay twice can be very time consuming.

A weapons case inside the Lost MC clubhouse
2: Getaway cars
This mission is somewhat easy for all types, but of course it's much faster done with a friend since you will have to get 2 cars most of the time.
  • Police warehouse: You have to go to a vehicle warehouse of the police and get the 2 cars out of there, don't worry about the sounds of the engines when in the warehouse, the cops inside seem to be deaf. When driving outside, be careful not to alert the cops standing outside or you'll have to lose your wanted level first.
  • Valet: You go to a hotel, scare away some valets, dress up as one and wait for the cars to arrive. Nothing much can go wrong here. The only things you shouldn't do is shoot or knock out the valets and bump into somebody infront of the hotel. Just simply bring the cars to your arcade and you're done.
  • I/E crew: You have to take the cars off a crew who just imported them. Just go to the location, kill the goons and take the cars. Watch out however, the enemies have extremely good aim and even a single enemy can kill you in a couple of seconds. Just use your homing rockets (don't worry, the getaway cars can't be blown up) to kill them, get the cars and bring them to your arcade.
3: Hacking Device
Seems like a simple mission, and it is. There are only two types of this mission, and they are both somewhat easy.
  • FIB: Collect a security pass off an FIB agent by brutally slaughtering him and his fellows, go to the FIB office, find the briefcase with the hacking devise, get out, lose the cops and bring it to your arcade. When killing the FIB agent, an exploded vehicle may block the agent's corpse. Just get another car to push anything away. There is also a bug where the corpse will either always be considered as blocked or ont even appear, if that happens you have to find a new session and restart the mission.
  • Noose: The early part is pretty similar to the FIB type, you collect a keycard off of an agent, enter the Noose building and use your phone to find the hacking device. When you get out of the Noose building, the alarm will always automatically go off, just fly away with your OppressoAkula etc. and lose the cops before bringing the hack device to your arcade. You can also assassinate the agent silently when collecting the keycard by approaching him, waiting for him to go away from the other 2 agents and then bopping him in the head with a gun, but form my experience its faster to just blow him up since you'll most likely lose the cops on the way to the Noose building anyway.

The briefcase you're looking for
4: Vault Keycards
This one has 2 mission types. In one you just go to two guards who have the keycards, eliminate them silently by smacking them in the head with a weapon and then looting their keycards.
The other mission is a bit more complicated. It involves you getting a prison bus and entering the bolingbroke prison in that disguise tho then silently murder a guard there who has the keycards. You actually don't have to collect or even blow up the bus, you can fly straight to the prison, kill the guard and get the keycard. Keep in mind thatr you wil get 4 stars doing it this way and there are snipers on the 2 adjacent towers to where the keycard guard is, so you'll wnat to kill those first before looting the guard.
The recommended vehicle is the Oppressor Mk II just to get around faster, but the Akula is a very viable choice aswell to lose the cops more easily after flying to the prison.
5: Guard Patrols
Pretty straight-forward mission. You go to a Duggan security meeting, kill all the guards, find the correct car, photograph the plan and then get out.
This mission can be done stealthy, but it's basically impossible, you're better off juzst shooting them straight away.
The correct car will always be a Felon GT and there will always be 3 of them in the same positions, so you get the hang of where to go after doing it a couple of times.
Once again the Oppressor and Akula are your go-to vehicles for this mission, but DO NOT use the rockets to blow up the guards, the chance of accidentaly blowing up the car with the plans is not worth the risk, and I suggest you also dont use a Minigun since that can also bvlow up the car pretty quick.
6: Duggan Shipments
This is the most stressful prep. You need to destroy 10 of Duggans shipments in 10 minutes to weaken the guards inside the casino. The easiest way to do them is with any chopper with rockets (Akula, Hunter, Savage etc.) or the Oppressor Mk II (you may need to fly an optimal route so you have enough time to destroy all of them.
It is actually no neccesary to destroy all of them, for the silent approach destroying 2-4 is sufficient to make the guards not have helmets (you don't want to bodyshot them anyway, that might make them sound the alarm) but for the loud approach, it's best to destroy all 10 of them so that the guards only have Pistols and Micro SMGs.
If you fail to destroy all 10 in time, you can quickly leave the session before the time runs out and retry the mission.
7: Security Intel
This prep is unlocked after completing the 6 Casino missions unlocked by buying a Casino Penthouse. It can only be done once, so you won't have to replay it every heist.
The mission is simple, you go to a mall, meet Vincent, get the stolen car back for him (use a vehicle with drive-by weapons, helicopters and the Oppressor aren't good for this mission) and done, you can now see all the cameras inside the casino.
8: Power Drills
This mission also has 2 types, but the van one is much rarer. The common one involves going to a construction site and getting 2 power drills.
When you get to the cunstruction site, there will be a white icon on the map. Go there and equip the helmet (your character may remove the helmet shortly after equipping it but the disguise will still work) then just go and check the boxes for the power drills
YOU CAN CARRY BOTH DRILLS AT ONCE! That way you don't have to fly all the way to your arcade and back to collect the other drill.
The second type involves stealing a van with the drills inside and taking ti to your arcade. Simply use a vehicle with drive-by weapons (Once again no chopper or Oppressor), kill the driver AND passenger (he will get on the driver seat after the driver dies), collect the van and take it to your arcade.
9: Security Pass
First of all, ALWAYS get the level 2 security pass (the one showing a valet and croupier on the mission picture) The level 1 pass will only get you through the outside doors whilst the level 2 pass will open all doors except the level 3 ones inside the vault.
Once again, two types of this mission may occur. The first involves you stealing a hearse from a church parking lot. You will then have to lose a 2-star wanted level and drive to a hospital where you then have to find the corpse of a valet and get his security pass. When entering the hospital, your character may automatically have a weapon drawn, so pay attention to that before running through to the corpse.
The other type has you going to the party of a croupier, waiting until lester found the right guy and then take the security pass off him. When you get to the party, there will be a pavillon with people dancing, just go there and start dancing until lester has found the right guy. When you then search the croupier for the pass and it's not on him, just search for a small purple keycard (it can be somewhat hard to find but it will always be in the same locations) and collect it.
As for vehicles, anything goes. The Oppressor will probably get you where you want to go the fastest.

The pavillon that you can dance under

6: Approach Specific Preps

Silent approach:
1: Drones
You have to destroy 5 drones spread around LS and collect their parts. Pretty simple mission, use something with rockets (Oppressor will have better rockets than Helicopters) and blow up the drones. You can of course carry all 5 drone parts at once.
It can be tricky to lock on to the drones as you will also lock onto the cops if you have a wanted level, just swap from non-homing to homing rockets if you locked onto the wrong target.
2: Laser drills
This can be a difficult mission. You will either have to take the two drills off the military, which may be hard since they are very accurate and theres a lot of them, but you can use you Oppressor or Akula rockets without worrying about blowing up the drills, just be sure to stay far enough away, their aim is surprisingly good. Be careful when collecting the first laser drill, if the cops kill you your Oppressor may be impounded and you have to use a different one.
The second type will be to take the drills from a bunch of Cliffford soldiers (apparently they're still around) which is way harder than the military since the cliffford soldiers are EXTREMELY accurate and there will even be a juggernaut and snipers. I don't recommend using the Oppressor for this as you are very vulnerable when standing still, go with an Akula instead. Just kill all the soldiers, enter the warehouse, kill some more soldiers, take the drills and get to oyur arcade.
3: EMP
Another pretty easy and simple mission, you will have to collect a cargobob (with an extra long cable) from the airport, fly to the LS University and steal their EMP. Then just fly to the drop-off, lose a 3-star wanted level by evading the helicopters and drop off the EMP.
Some people skip this mission and the next one, but I use the EMP during the finale to casually do the last hard part so theres no risk of screwing anything up. If you are however coordinated enough to not need the EMP, then you may skip this and the next prep
4: Stealth Uniforms
I highly recommend paying for this mission, it can be very annoying and you get the 70k back from the finale anyway.
This mission involves you going to humane labs and assasinating guards silently (very similar to the infamous deliver EMP mission) and getting the uniforms from the garage where you would park the insurgent in the Humane Labs Heist. This mission can be done quickly if you have a buddy, if you don't, it's better to just skip it and pay the 70k (If you don't plan on using the EMP you don't need to do this mission anyway, it's only for the night-vision equipment)
Big Con approach:
For this one, I'll only talk about the group sechs uniforms, since this is the easiest method of doing the Casino Heist by far. If you want to use a different uniform to unlock it, go ahead, but do be warned that it will be significantly harder to fully stealth.
1: Group Sechs, part 1:
Simple mission, go to a mechanics repair shop, kill the mechanic after realizing the Stockade is locked, get the keys and drive away. You will get a wanted level, but you can call Lester to easily lose them.
2: Group Sechs, part 2:
A bit harder, but still pretty easy. This mission is similar to the Patrol routes mission, you have to go to a group sechs meeting, kill everyone (this can also be done stealthy, but its again almost impossible), photograph the license plate of the black stockade, send it to Lester and then get the equipment and bring it to your arcade. Again as with the Patrol routes mission, do not use explosives to kill the guards as you might accidentaly blow up the equipment. You can call Lester to get rid off your wanted level.
3: Vault drills
Yet another simple mission with two types
  • Fleeca: A crew of bankrobbers will be robbing a Fleeca-bank with the needed drills. Go there, kill em, get their drill, lose the cops, bring the drills to your arcade. Pretty simple, but you cant call Lester, so using an Oppressor or Akula is beneficial.
  • Heist crew: A bunch of heisting dudes are being arrested by the police. Go there, kill em, get their drills, lose the cops, bring the drills to oyur arcade. Pretty simple, but you can't call Lester, so using an Oppressor or Akula is beneficial....hm, I'm having quite the Déjà vu.
4: Escape Outfits (Noose)
I'm choosing Noose outfits because they look better (and I'm sure they are in some way better than the Firefighter uniforms, I just don't know how, you seem to get spotted in the Noose uniforms aswell)
Simple (yet somewhat difficult) mission. Go to the mission row police station, kill all the cops there, find the Noose equipment, loose the cops and bring them back to your arcade. You can't call Lester to lose the cops so an Akula would be helpful. When collecting the second uniforms doing it solo, you will once again get 4 stars, so be ready to evade the cops again. Also, when you die at the police station, the cops will most likely impound your vehicle, so a careful approach would be better.
Aggressive approach
1: Thermal explosives
Loud has some pretty annoying mission, this being the first one. Once again, there are 2 types of this mission
  • You have to go to some rednecks and get the explsovies off of them. Just kill them all (once again no need to worry about blowing anything importnat up) and collect the boxes. They have a pretty big pickup distance so collecting them in a Helicopter should be no problem
  • SecuroServ Warehouse: Go to a warehouse, kill some people outside, kill some people inside, find the explosives, bring them to your arcade, no cops, pretty easy.
2: Vault explosives
This may be the most annoying mission of the entire heist. You have to go to a crash site of a plane, dive to the wreck and collect the explsovies. If you own one, put on a diving suit BEFORE starting the mision, you can't access the outfits during the mission.
When arriving at the crash site, you can dive straight to the plane if you have a scuba suit equipped, that saves you the killing and you won't get shot at instantly. Otherwise you have to kill some goons and equip a scuba suit nearby marked on your radar. When you collect the explosives, 3 helicopters will spawn. When you get out of the water, kill the gunners inside the helicopters, not the pilots. The helicopters would respawn and by only killing the gunners they will just follow you without shooting you.
3: Improved armor
You'll probably want to buy this prep, since this mission can also be very annoying. Two types of this mission, both are very unpleasant.
  • Humane Labs: Go to the beach at humane labs, get into a scuba suit, dive through the cooling tunnel into the facility, find the armor and bring it to your arcade. This mission may not be that hard, but the long swim and indoor fighting stretch out the mission and it quickly becomes repetetive and boring. There will atleast be a buzzard when you get out of the facility.
  • Merryweather bunker: Enter a bunker, kill the merryweather goons, find the armor and bring it to the arcade. Simple mission on paper, but the enemies will probably kill you atleast once and the armor sometimes can be tricky to find, I once spent 15 minutes searching the armor.
4: Drill
Simple mission and only needed if you plan on entering the casino through the sewers. Just go collect a truck with the drill loaded onto it, drive it through the water channel and into the sewers. The time you save by going into the casino through the sewers is probably negated by the time it takes for this mission, but having a more relaxed finale is certainly worth doing one more short prep mission.

7: Silent Finale

Alright, it's finally time for the big moneys, the finale. For this approach, you'll want to go in through either the garbage disposal or personnel room and go out through the personnel room. ALWAYS choose the high end buyer, he will give you the most money.
The finale starts very simple, you drive to the casino and enter through the door you chose. Careful, there will be a camera that you need to zap using your stun gun. When inside, there will be metal detectors that you need to disable by shooting the current box with the stun gun. Sometimes there will be guards watching the metal detectors, in that case you need to take them out before you go through.
When taking out guards, it's better for player guy to kill 2 guards facing eachother, as internet issues may cause in the alarm being raised even if the guards are killed simultaneously. You have more than enough time between shooting the first guard and the second guard raising the alarm that it shouldn't be a problem, just make sure your teammates stay back and don't interfere with the player killing the guards.
After clearing the first area (see picture below), you enter the security room through one of four doors (most of the time 2 of them are locked, can be seen by a red display on the keypad instead of the blue diamond) and then wait for the guard in the hallway to move out of the cameras sightline (Do not worry about the glass at the security room, for some reason guards can't see through it. The y can however see through the glass of the doors) Then you follow him (watch out for the camera) and shoot him in the head. Feel free to then clear the secondary vault by one play opening it for another player to loot (theres another button to open the vault inside, the player pressing the button only has to let him in) and then USE THE STAIRS to get to the vault floor.
When going down the stairs, a guard will walk up the stairs, shoot him in the head, disable the camera in the stairway and make your way all the way down.

Getting to the stairs undetected
On the vault floor, go out of the stairway and take out the 2 guards to the left. Then set off your EMP (this will also obviously disable the cameras) by having the host open their phone and using the securoserv-hack. The lights will then go out and you can rush into the main lobby and take out the 4 guards there. You can ignore the last guard inside the security room, just go to the keypads, swipe both at once and enter the mantrap.

Getting to the mantrap undetected
When at the vault door, 2 guys get out their laser drills and start drilling. The drilling is very simple, you just keep the drill as hot as possible whilst not overheating it. When inside the vault, take as much loot as you can but make sure to leave the vault before the time runs out (I recommend stopping the looting with 20-25 seconds remaining to ensure you have enough time to get out).
When getting back into the vault lobby, there will be 2 guards walking past the stairway, you can ignore those, just use the stairs to go up again (and don't forget to disable the camera in the stairway)
When back in the main floor, follow the route shown in the picture below whilst taking out any guards in the way (2 will be in the security room, you can ignore those) and leave the casino through the personnel door. Don't worry about the metal detectors whilst going out, they dont seem to alert the guards.

Getting out of the Casino undetected
When outside, again follow the route shown on the picture below to get to the getaway cars (locations may vary with different drivers) and drive into the sewers. Then spend some time in the sewers by either waiting or driving to another exit (I personally like to drive to the exit right at the highway so that the drive to the buyer is as fast as possible) Make sure not to drive too close to the Casino, as that will get you 5 wanted stars. I recommend avoiding the freeway next to the casino, you may however use the road to the north-west of the freeway.

Escape route with getaway car locations in pink (when choosing the 5% driver)
Then just casually drive to the buyer after you've lost the cops and there you go, fat loot.

8: Big Con Finale

This is the easiest finale by far. Choose the group Sechs entry uniform, noose escape uniform, the personnel rooms as the exit and of course the high end buyer.
Take the Group Sechs truck to the Casino and through the service tunnel, wait until the guard lets you through, park it on the yellow marker and use the elevator or stairs to get to the vault floor.
On the vault floor, just run to the keypads for the mantrap. The guards don't care if you're running or even jumping, just don't bump into anybody and don't draw your weapons.
The just casually loot the vault and again, make sure to get out before the time runs out (stop looting with about 25 seconds left to have enough time to get out safely.
Then just walk through the mantrap and the vault lobby again but USE THE STAIRS to get to the main floor (the camera will not raise the alarm, don't worry about it). Make sure you are all past the camera before going to the main floor, as anyone who didn't go past the camera will get detected due to the guards being alerted and a wanted level appearing. When at the main floor, use the route in the picture below to get to the Noose outfits and switch into them to walk past the last few guards without any problem.

Getting out of the Casino with the Noose uniforms
When outside, follow the same route as in the silent approach to get to the getaway cars. Drive into the sewers, lose the cops in there and then again casually drive to the buyer whilst avoiding driving to close to the casino.

Getting to the getaway cars and into the sewers undetected

9: Aggresive Finale

There really isn't any major explanation needed for this approach, as you won't have to worry about getting detected.
If you chose to enter through the sewers, drive there, enter the tunnel that was dug with the giant drill and plant explosives at the wall to gain entrance to the vault floor directly.
Then just shoot your way to the mantrap keypads and have the others protect the people opening the mantrap if you are playing with 3 or 4 players.
When looting the vault, you won't have to worry about getting out in time, and the nerve agent does very little damage, so don't be scared to take longer than the timer says.
Whilst shooting your way out of the casino, you may use either the elevator or the stairs to get to the main floor. Going through the security room allows you to evade any guards that may be in the south corridor.
When you get out of the casino, you may follow the same route as in the undetected approaches or run directly to the getaway vehicles, although you will probably get shot more doing that and therefor loose more money.
Get to your cars, drive into the sewers and lose the cops. Then you're just one casual drive away from making another bunch of cash. I highly recommend getting bulletproof tires for your getaway cars on this approach, and whilst you are spending that 10k per car, why not go big and get the 15k upgrade that laos makes the cars go much faster.

10: Tips and tricks

So in this section (which I will probably expand with additional tips, feel free to leave some in the comments) I'll go over some of the things I didn't mention that may save some effort or time when doing this heist.
  • You can lose the cops by going into the back of your Terrorbyte if you aren't carrying any equipment (useful during the untraceable weapon mission with the Noose van)

That about covers it for this heist. This has unexpectedly been quite the project for me, it took me 3 days of writing here and there and getting screenshots, so leaving a smol updoot would be appreciated. If you have any questions, of course feel free to leave a comment, I'll try my best to read every single one of them :)
Happy heisting! (and may your sessions be free of griefers!)

Beginners guide: Properties ranked by necessity

Based on Beginners guide: Properties ranked by Necessity by CretaceousFossil. Related: GTA Online property location guide, if you are wondering what the difference is between locations. For moneymaking specifics see /gtaonline's pinned weekly Mega Guide thread.
  1. An Apartment, Stilthouse, or Penthouse: The #1 property every player should have by Level 30 is an apartment. While they may be less effective property for earning money, they definitely have advantages. You can spawn there safely, not having to worry about spawn killing by griefers. If another player is relentlessly chasing you down, even if you own no other properties, you can evade them. And finally, its nice to feel like an actual resident of Los Santos. Also its the only way to do the regular heists as a host.
  2. CEO Office or Biker Clubhouse: It mainly comes down to what you like. You might like the clean, authoritative, high-rise feel of being a CEO, or you might like the gritty, street-level, rock'n'roll style of an MC president. However one or the other, is the second property you should invest in or at least prioritize. With the CEO Office, you won't need to make sure you have your 50,000 dollars every-time you join the game. Although the missions that come with the CEO are monotonous and underwhelming, so many of the other properties on this list require you to be a CEO or MC President to operate. As an MC president you have the ability to spawn in any bike you own, next to you with, no cooldown (except for the Oppressor Mk2); and as a CEO you have the ability to spawn in Organization vehicles (see #Organization_Vehicles on how to unlock them). You can also get free snacks at the Assistant in the Office.
  3. Bunker: If you are beginner or someone who doesn't own a ton of Mk2 weapons or weaponized vehicles, the money is definitely the best part. The resupply missions are fairly easy (but once you have both production upgrades, you should buy supplies), and most of the sell missions without rival players are a breeze. Whenever you are online and you have supplies in the Bunker, it is passively producing. This allows you to do other activities in the meantime. However besides the money, if you wish to own a lot of Mk2 Weapons and maybe a weaponized vehicle, the research does pay off. Also this property allows you to buy an MOC. While the interior may seem like a bunch of gray, drab, ugly, concrete tunnels at first, once you get the golf carts, sleeping quarters, shooting range, upgrades, and the yellow paint job its gives a nice industrial/laboratory feel.
  4. Vehicle Warehouse: Import/Export is one of the best solo money-making methods. There is no upfront cost as with Special Cargo but if done correctly it can still net a good $200k per hour (or more, combined with VIP jobs). The Specialized Vehicles stored in the basement are rather lackluster though, Rockstar introduced much more powerful weaponized vehicles since then, most of them even cheaper and customizable.
  5. (Special Cargo) Warehouse or MC Business: The warehouse's drop-shipping style buy & sell formula makes it the most straightforward and it's a good way to introduce beginners to selling. However, there are definitely some flaws with this option. While the selling yields good profits, if you lose your cargo, your losing time and money. Open-Road Businesses are similar in idea to gunrunning. Steal or buy supplies and wait for your stock to build up. However they don't pay that well, and are obsolete compared to other businesses.
  6. Nightclub: The nightclub definitely has some very good benefits. You get a free Speedo Custom right off the bat, which at first is a "so-so" vehicle, but once you have all the vehicle upgrades, the armor plating, the minigun, and mines, it's a very fun and effective vehicle. While the cargo accrues quite slowly, if you are patient and play the business battle missions, you will have some considerable stock. Plus you can purchase the Terrorbyte, more info on it below. For the Nightclub to be most effective you should own (and run, that is not have it shut down) other businesses, as the stock is generated from linked businesses. Keeping the Nightclub at higher levels of popularity will put more money every 24 ingame hours (48 minutes IRL) into your safe. Every ingame day decreases the popularity by 5% (1/4 of a popularity bar), changing DJs for $10k (once you unlocked them for $100k - this maxes out popularity) will up your popularity by 10% (half of a bar). Or you may wait a couple ingame days and do a popularity mission which increases popularity by 1.5 bar. You can see how much cash gets added into your safe (capacity: $70k) every day: https://gta.fandom.com/wiki/Nightclubs#Cash
  7. Terrorbyte (requires Nightclub): The Terrorbyte is a really great vehicle. Besides having a literal base inside in a truck, which is sweet, it is incredibly functional. The missions have awesome pay considering the level of effort/hassle needed to complete them, plus you can remotely launch resupply missions for any of your businesses. If you decide to buy this truck, make sure you have over $1.2m extra, to get the drone station and missiles (though the latter is not very useful), and you if don't own a Mk2 weapon workshop, getting one with the terrorbyte is a good idea.
  8. Arcade: The Arcade provides another passive income (max $5k per day) to the player while also giving the player the ability to host Casino Heists which pay really well if the player knows what they are doing. The passive income depends on how many games are placed, you may even just place the same games in every slot to achieve the highest possible payout, you don't have to buy all the machines. Owning a Terrorbyte makes you able to hire Paige as hacker, which is necessary for good Casino Heist runs to max out the time you can spend grabbing loot (or you may alternatively unlock Avi Schwartzman as a hacker).
  9. Facility: The facility although one of the more expensive properties, can get you some serious cash and XP from the Doomsday Heists, plus the front desk has free snack. This is my favorite property just because of how expansive it is. With the wall designs, color scheme, fully upgraded quarters, and statues you get after the heists, its very aesthetically pleasing and is a good way to impress.
  10. Garage (standalone property): If you are too broke to afford an apartment because you don't that much time to play or apartments are not your thing, put this at number 1 over the apartment as the first property to buy. However although being able to to store cars, garages are obsolete considering you can add garages and garage levels to nightclub, and apartments and the facilities include garages. Also you can't set your spawn location to standalone garages.
  11. Mobile Operations Center (MOC) or Avenger): While both have a better bang for your buck than the warehouse, they aren't that crucial for beginning players. The MOC at first is very barebones and while there are missions that can be launched from it, they require multiple players and can't be launched in freemode. The Avenger can be a useful vehicle for freemode jobs (such as Hangar missions or Facility/Arcade preps) but it's definitely not necessary.
  12. Hangar: If you love flying in GTA Online and want to spend all your money on planes, this is the property for you. However, if you want to make money, it's not a very good option. Crates are only worth $10k each and the missions require some flying skills, and only give 1 crate per player in the MC or Organization, with a maximum of 4. The sale missions also require flying skills, some even more than the sourcing missions and some of them can't really be done solo.
  13. Arena Workshop: With the paint job, decals, and office, the Arena Workshop can be made to look very cool, and with the weapons workshop you can add weapons to vehicles and upgrade guns. You also have access to the Arena War career, which allows you to unlock discount prices for outfits and vehicle mods (albeit randomly, so it's not a very effective model), and the base prices for the upgardes are very steep. This property is over a million, so unless you are planning to buy a ton of discounted items or you just love Arena War, wait out on this one or skip it altogether.
  14. Casino Master Penthouse: Basically a very expensive apartment, with very expensive modular upgrades and decorations. You can also add a 10-car garage for $900k. It also lets you do the Casino Missions (from Agatha Baker) as a host, which upon completion awards the player with the Paragon R (Armored)) car, which is exclusively available from here.
  15. CEO Office Garage: Unless you are super rich and own more cars than you know what to do with, make this property dead last. It costs millions to add more levels. You can add a Custom Auto Shop (for even more money) with it to custom your cars straight from the garage though.
  16. Yacht: Big floating apartment on water, gives you the option to play one extra type of VIP job. Not a priority.

We all grow up eventually

A few weeks before the Diamond Casino update released, I got back to GTA Online after a very long break (almost a year).
Today I was reminded how much time in total I used to play this game, which made me remember all these good and bad memories from the last few years.

I think I could almost say I grew up with it. I started playing on October 3rd 2013 on my old PS3 system when I first got the game. It was a birthday gift when I turned 14 and used to play it almost every week at least once since then.
At that time my two best friends (twins) also got the game for their PS3 which they shared with each other. But that didn’t bother either of them nor me. In fact they got the game on release which meant they were already more experienced than I was due to single player – so naturally I was really looking forward to finally get to play with them.
I started the game, played the prologue and was so amazed by the game’s intro. The music, the setting, the graphics – it was PERFECT.
But I couldn’t lose any more time. I switched to Online as soon as possible to find my friends (at least the one of the two who was playing). I hit ‘em up on WhatsApp and told them I finally got the game and was playing the introduction, which – if you remember – didn’t immediately allow you to join your friends.
But oh boy, when I was done – shit got so real.

Now, I don’t know why and it probably won’t make sense to you, but the first time I met online with M (one of the twins, the other one we’ll call K) was hilarious as f***.
I just sat in my Dominator around Vinewood hills and saw on my map that he was getting closer pretty fast. When he reached me, he full speed drove off my right car door that was open and it flew pretty far away. I couldn’t control myself and just had to laugh. It was somehow magical to finally play this game with a friend, after being excited for it multiple months.
That was probably my prime time. It didn’t matter to us how much money we had, if somebody killed us or if we were just bad at the game in general. We played it, because it was FUN. And in school we were always talking about what to do next. It was a very memorable time and I’m very grateful for it.

Unfortunately this only lasted a year and a half before I had to leave my school and visit a new one (grades weren’t that good and I faced a few issues with one of my teachers, which was my main reason to leave).
We promised we’d stay friends forever and yeah, I still am in contact with them to this day. But I wouldn’t say we’re friends. We often got into a fight because they got themselves a tank which they used to blow me up in the middle of a session which made me – in my young age – very angry. I took the game way too serious than I want to admit. Only a few days after I left our school they pretty much lost interest in playing with me, which made me very sad for a long time (I struggled with finding new friends at my new school, which made me feel very lonely).

Luckily after a year I finally made two new good friends, one of which became my best friend still to this day (let’s call him B).
They were both playing on Xbox360 while I was “stuck” on PS3. But I was just happy that I wasn’t lonely anymore and we got to hang out regularly in real life.
After we graduated our ways parted and once again I was on a new school trying to achieve my Abitur (I live in Germany. That’s just a better graduation than the one I already had).
I stayed in contact with B and though we didn’t see each other in a long time, it didn’t break our friendship.

Then it happened – my big brother gave me his Xbox One, because he bought himself an Xbox One S.
And guess what? The game he bought for me? GTA V.

I discovered that I was able to transform my old character (who by now owned a very large amount of money through hackers/modders).
Well, not as directly as I thought. I spent an entire day buying and replacing T2s in order to lose lots of my money because Rockstar didn’t allow players with so much money transform over their characters.
Eventually I stopped at 300 million and I finally made it to next gen.

It was such a huge difference and I finally got to enjoy all the updates I missed out on which didn’t release on old gen. My brother started playing with me and I got into a second time of my life in this game. It made me appreciate it even more and I was really happy again.
At the beginning of 2018 B got himself an Xbox One as well and we finally got to play with each other. I taught him everything I knew and since he knew my brother, we made a fantastic trio online.

Now both of them slowly abandon gaming in general. My brother only occasionally plays on his Switch, while B is too busy with his girlfriend.
But all these memories – of how me and M or K took over the city with our free Elegys and driveby skills, or when we used to play missions for entire nights during summer. Or how I got to play Heists with my brother and his friends for my first time or how B and I pretty much did everything imaginable, like suiciding with a Titan into other players on the highway or when we “kidnapped” other people’s cars with the cargobob.
Sometimes I miss the simplicity the vanilla GTA Online had. Where the most expensive car was the Truffade Adder and you actually saw players robbing liquor stores.

I just wanted to share this experience with you guys, because I want to know how you guys experienced GTA Online. I’m 20 now and thinking back to all these happy days of my life really made me nostalgic.

Thanks to you all for your patience reading this.
I wish you a healthy and long life.

Money Making and Quality of Life Tips

In spite of how long GTAO has been a thing I still see daily posts about people who struggle to make money in GTAO and there are always new players trickling in. Since the game has been out for so long some players might also be concerned what info is outdated and what still matters. I've been playing on and off since the import / export update and until the Diamond Casino I've never completed a heist because the originals required 4 players and randoms sucked so I have no advice there. None of what I'm going to talk about is a glitch.
To start, 2 huge quality of life tricks to know
Getting a solo lobby: Can confirm this works on xb1 and should work on ps4, no idea about pc.
Requires a hard wired connection, meaning you have an ethernet cable running from your router to your console.
Step 1: Before opening GTA unplug your ethernet cable and let your console pick up a wireless connection
Step 2: Open GTA and get into any online session
Step 3: Plug your ethernet cable in while walking around
That's it. There should be a momentary disruption that splits you from your lobby. It will be very hard for other players to join your lobby unless they are invited or join you off your crew tag. You may get booted from GTAO but in my experience if it doesnt work the first time it usually works the second. This trick has worked for years and will probably continue to work for the life of GTAO
Idle forever in GTAO: Go into any building you own with a security camera or TV. Watch the security camera or the TV (must zoom in in tv)
That's it, very useful for turning supplies into products at MC biz, bunkers, or night clubs without having to actually do anything. Just walk away for a few hours then buy more supplies as needed until the biz is full.
Making money:
Active money makers: vehicle warehouse, special cargo warehouse, hangar
Vehicle warehouse is typically considered best because its missions are almost all easy and quick. You can source only high end cars by filling your warehouse with all the low to mid range cars. The game wont have you source the same license plate twice so if you only sell high end cars eventually you will only source high end cars. Another trick is to use a cargobob to transport the cars to risk less damage.
Cargobobs are very slow so if you have helicopters chasing you then you can still take plenty of damage. I recommend getting to max altitude so you dont need to slow down to gain altitude when running from the helis. Delivery missions almost never have helis so cargobobing is safe and easy. The last alternative is to trigger the helicopters and cars chasing you and kill them. Typically there are 3 or 4 waves of enemies before you can proceed unmolested.
Payout is 80k - damage to car
Supply crates warehouse: is very tedious but a great payout. Roughly 1/3 supply missions will let you source all 3 crates in 1 truck. The rest of the time you have to make 3 trips which is a huge pain. I believe the payout of a large warehouse is 1.7m after you deduct the cost of the crates. This would be easy to google if you want
Would not recommend if you dont have an oppressor mk2 or at least a buzzard. Personally with the oppressor mk2 I think this might be better active money than cars considering 1/3 of missions dont require 3 trips. Much less instant gratification though.
Hangar: I did very little with the hangar. It's a lot like crates but all the missions use aircraft and are typically harder than car / crate missions. Would only recommend for people who absolutely love flying.
Passive income:
Mc businesses and the bunker all work the same way. You buy or steal supplies that get turned into product over time. Profitability goes in the order of bunker (no research), cocaine, meth, counterfeit cash, weed, and I dont even remember the last one because it's barely profitable buying supplies.
Location matters, the best locations are in the middle of the map, the grand senora desert region. City locations can make you go all the way to paleto bay and vice versa.
Playing solo you want to make sure you sell before your product is more than half full to limit the number of delivery vehicles.
Buying supplies hurts profits but the time investment of stealing supplies isnt worth it. That time is better spent on cars or crates. The power of the passive income is to have several going at once. The exception to this is if you have help. The more people on a steal mission the more supplies the mission generates.
Nightclub: requires you already have passive income set up. Let's you generate free product without worrying about supply. Product generates very slowly in relation to other businesses. If you spend a lot of time idle at your security cams though this is a big winner.
Getting raided: Your bunker / mc businesses will always have a hidden timer ticking whenever you are an MC president in free mode and outside of a building and not in a mission. Security upgrades increase this timer and you can limit raids by disbanding your MC before you leave buildings and right after sales. Done right and you should only lose seconds per sale and lose no time when resupplying.
Diamond city casino heist: Will probably take 3-4 runs to pay for the arcade if running with 4 players. Heists are a much better experience with friends imo and really only recommend doing them with friends in general. Arcade location matters slightly. There are a few prep missions that will always be in the city. Would only recommend for players who already have a strong income because the passive income is shit for the money you have to invest.
Big con / group sechhs is easiest. Nobody bothers you until you get to the top of the elevator and you can easily get to the noose outfits upstairs once you have done it a few times and walk right out whatever exit you like.
I recommend leaving from the staff entrance. Theres an underground tunnel nearby that you should google and makes losing the 5 stars a joke.
Always do the duggans optional prep. The difference in guard weapon and armor quality is massive. This is exceptionally important for the aggressive and stealthy approaches.
Always hire cheap gunman / driver and expert hacker. The duggans mission make guards tissue paper, and the tunnel makes it so any vehicle is fine as long as you can get in there.
You can afford a cheaper hacker if you have 4 people who know what their doing, or 3 with artwork because its quicker.
The tunnel also eliminates the need to spend money on a clean car or gunman distraction.
I hope all of that will be useful to a few of you and if anyone wants to comment any other good advice there are still people who could use it
Edit: even though a lot of people are shitting on the newest heist it's a strong contender for the best active income at this time. Unlike the original heists your passive income buildings will be generating product while you do the preps and those that have been running the heist a lot claim to be knocking the preps out in under 2 hours once getting used to the missions. If you can do them in that kind of time your income is much better than crates or vehicles

GTA Online: Contact Missions With A Story

I'm not really into the Lowrider stuff and I got thinking about ideas that would suit the game and fit into the setting. I took inspiration from the Gone in 60 Seconds films for this story idea. Tell me what you like and tell me what you hate. Just any feedback or suggestions that you'd maybe like to see if R* were to create an update for GTA Online like this.
Hao comes to the player asking for help after his brother Hinn flees Liberty City after accidentally killing the son of the Triad leader while illegally street racing. After pleading for the Triads to spare Hinn's life The Triad boss Ming offers a deal to the two brothers. Steal all the listed cars and deliver them to Triad associates before a deadline hits or suffer a brutal death for all involved should they fail. They have a handful days to collect all vehicles.
Mission 1 – Pink Slips 2 to 4 players
Los Santos' renowned street racer Andrew “The Weasel” says he'll give his car up to anyone who can beat him. The race he's competing in has a upstart racer with a brand new Dinka Sarakin, the only one to reach American shores. He's hoping to take this vehicle but we know better. Make sure one player crosses the line first and take his heavily modified Obey 9F and in the confusion of the heat of the race steal the Sarakin before anyone realises what's going on. Stash both vehicles back at the airport LSC once you're done.
•The racer must come first. •The Sarakin must be forced into last place and be stolen out of view of the other racers. •The mission will be failed if the players cause any deaths.
Completing this mission opens the Dinka Sarakin for purchase. A highly modified sports car based on the Toyota Supra.
Mission 2 – Valet 1 to 2 players
I'm going to need to you go down to that posh Hotel down in Vinewood and deal with the valet man when he's out of sight of his co-workers. Take his place and steal the 4 cars the Triads want. The Benefactor Surano, The Dewbauchee Rapid, the Enus Huntley and the Albany Manana all need to be jacked. Stash them at the drop off and get back to the front desk as soon as possible, if a car turns up and nobody is there to take it you'll blow your cover and all this is over. You need to deal with every car that pulls up even if we're not here to steal them, so don't screw up. You know how heavy the police come down when it's not the hoy palloi getting robbed.
•All cars must be taken to destination •Failure to take receipt of a car will result in a mission failure. •Any violence will result in mission failure.
Mission 3 – Mount Chili-had 4 players
There's some photo shoot going on up the top of Mount Chilliad where they're showing off 3 Marshall's and a Vapid Sasquatch. I don't know why Ming want these and frankly I don't care. What you need to do is steal some planes from McKenzie Airfield, get up nice and high and parachute into the marked zone. Once you land sneak up on the vehicles and snatch them. Stow them away in Sandy Shores once you've escaped the police. If you screw the approach up you'll spook the people there and they'll make a run for it, if this happens you can use the off-road vehicles I've stashed up there for you. I wouldn't want to do that myself though, those babies wheels are taller than I am.
•Steal and deliver all marked vehicles. •If a marked vehicle is destroyed the mission is failed.
Completing this mission opens the Vapid Sasquatch, a variant of the monster trucks in game that's small enough to be kept in your personal garage.
Mission 4 – Racing Stripes 4 players
The USA Touring Car Race has come to Los Santos. I'm guessing these cars are going to end up in private collectors hands after you steal them. These cars are so expensive that they've got Merryweather in on the job protecting them. There's two Titans each with 2 cars in the back of each plane. The Sprunk Buffalo, the Massacro Racecar, the Dinka Jester Racecar and the Benefactor Feltzer Racecar must be stolen from Los Santos International Airport. As soon as you enter the airport you have a wanted and must retrieve all 4 cars against heavy Merryweather resistance. Once you are done you must deliver them to the Quarry where Hinn and Hao will move them on.
•Steal and deliver all marked cars •If a vehicle is destroyed the mission is failed
Completing this mission opens the Benefactor Feltzer Racecar complete with Life Invader decals.
Mission 5 – Hack and Seek 1 to 4 players
Ming's started being all cryptic with these orders and only given us the telematic numbers for the next batch of cars. That's the bad news. The good news is that we've triangulated where they are and it appears they're in multi story car parks around LS. I've had a wannabe hacker knock up and app for your phone, when you ring the telematic number it'll flash the lights and beep the horn of the car so you can locate it. Get out there, find those cars and deliver them to the carpark up near the Boulevard. We'll take car of the rest.
•Deliver the cars marked by the app. •If a vehicle is destroyed the mission is failed.
Mission 6 – The Cursed Car 1 to 4 players
This Voodoo was the first big purchase back in the 60's by the first Liberty City Triad Boss Po, he got it within 8 months of joining the American dream without being able to speak a word of English. It was seen as a significant coup for the Triads to be buying such lavish possessions off criminal activity after such a short time. Unfortunately it was stolen from Po after a deal went south and was passed about by rival gangs wanting to rub the Liberty City Triads noses in it. Ming wants it back and your orders are to go to a meeting and deal with the Aztecas and the Lost using it as a bartering chip over a deal over by the Lighthouse in Blaine. Kill them all and leave the vehicle at the liquor store in Sandy Shores.
•Go to the lighthouse and kill both sets of gang members •Retrieve the Voodoo and park it in the designated spot •If the vehicle is destroyed the mission is failed. •(SECRET) One of the gang members is holding the Yu Jian. Pick it up for an extra reward from Ming.
Finding the Yu Jian unlocks the katana blade for purchase.
Mission 7 – The Best Mission... In the World! 1 to 3 players
Those British TV car show presenters are in LS testing out some high end vehicles for their TV show. I love these guys so this is hard for me to say, but we have to rip them off, what Ming wants Ming gets. Mask up and steal their cars but under no circumstances hurt them or their camera crews. It's already bad enough we're doing this but hurting them is something I don't want on my conscious.
•Steal the Pegassi Vacca from Sparkson. This gentlemen is known to be super aggressive so be ready for a fist fight. •Steal the Pfister Comet from Beefmond. This gentleman is know for driving extremely dangerously without care for himself or other drivers so be ready for a chase. •Steal the Ubermacht Zion from June. This gentlemen will have got himself in a predicament that will be hard to sort out and is also prone to boring anyone stupid enough to listen to his trivia so be prepared for tedium. •If a vehicle is destroyed the mission is failed.
Mission 8 – Into the Drink 1 to 2 players
The new money from the internet age has created some crazy wheels. One of the main owners of Bleeter has an enormous yacht anchored down just outside the Bluffs. It's not that that Ming is interested in though. On board there's a super rare coupé called the Coil Mantaray that's only given to the worlds most high flyers. So how do you get this car back on dry land if there's no road to drive on? You sail it. That wondrous bit of technology is water tight and can propel itself underwater. Get to the yacht, take out the security and yank the Mantaray. Stay submerged until you lose the police and then bring it to the surface on Vespucci Beach.
•Gain access to the yacht and deal with the security. Killing innocents will bring more police in, so avoid it if possible. •Do not damage the Coil Mantaray significantly. If you break any windows or bust any panels it won't remain water tight and will damage upon entering the water. A flooded car will result in a mission failure.
Completing this mission will unlock the Coil Mantaray for purchase, it is styled on the Lotus Esprit. The Coil Mantaray has average performance for a coupe, but it has reinforced bodywork and windscreens to cope with the high pressures of being underwater. Players can ride on the surface of bodies of water by driving into them or they can hold right on the dpad to submerge. While underwater the vehicle controls like an airplane, albeit very slow.
Mission 9 – Music Was Better Back Then 4 players
Can't say I care for the 80's, 90's or even the 00's bands. Live in the here and now I say, unless we're talking about cars. Since we've got these has been bands on these reunion tours there's bound to be cars these rich coked up assholes have that are on Ming's list. Go to Vinewood Hills, get to the open air stadium, get past the entourages and boost some of those classic wheels. Try to avoid casualties, we don't need any more heat than we're already going to get for jacking these marks.
•Steal the Grotti Cheetah 80's •Steal the Obey Deluxo 80's •Steal the Pegassi Infernus 80's •Steal the Bravado Banshee 80's •Deliver all vehicles to the Terminal. If any vehicles are destroyed the mission is failed.
Completing this mission opens up The Grotti Cheetah 80's, the Obey Deluxo 80's, the Pegassi Infernus 80's and the Bravado Banshee 80's for purchase. All cars are modelled similarly to what they were based on in Vice City.
Mission 10 – The Sheik 4 players
The Sheik of one of those oil rich countries is in town down at the Casino. He's renowned for being indecisive so has a trailer full of his super cars follow him around so he can pick and choose what he drives no matter where he is. You're going to split into teams of a driver, a shotgun and 2 hackers. The driver and the shotgun go to the casino and fight to take control of the 18 wheeler carrying the goods while the hackers track down secret documents detailing police force telematic numbers. Once the driver is on the freeway that drives through the Tatavian Mountains the hackers have to work as quickly as possible to reduce the wanted level of the driver to zero before they hit Paleto Bay. Instead of only having one option on the rotating cylinders that spell out a word, there's several colours that all have a different effect on the police chasing the truck. You can cut engines, jam the accelerator on, gimp the steering or blast the cops with loud music to prevent them from running the truck off the road.
Team 1 of driver and shotgun •Fight your way through security and safely steal the vehicle carrier. •Get it on the highway and deliver the load to Paleto Bay. •If you take too much damage the load comes undone and the mission is failed. Team 2 hackers •Track down the van carrying the telematic data of police vehicles. •Take the van to a safe place. •Hack police vehicles until the star wanted is gone. If the truck uncouples or reaches its destination before the wanted is clear the mission is failed. •If you destroy the van carrying the documents the mission is failed.
Mission 11 – Cutting it Fine 2 to 4 players
The last cars on the list, finally. If this whole things couldn't get any messier it appears that the Koreans and the Los Santos Triads are going to cost us our lives at the last hurdle. It looks like Ming might have cut them in on the list so they're fighting over a Pegassi Zentorno and a Truffade Adder we need. The stubbornness between the gangs means that if one can't have it then neither can have it. On top of this we've pretty much pissed every other gang off in LS and Blaine so expect them to give you hassle if you come into contact. Get out there, save those vehicles and come back alive. We didn't come this far to fuck it up.
•Each car has a timer and a health bar relative to the cars health. If either the timer or the health bar gets to zero before the vehicles are delivered to Rockford Hills LSC the mission is failed.
Mission 12 – Mr Ming 2 to 4 players
This is it. We go down to the Terminal and present the cars to Mr Ming himself. Here's hoping all the hard work we put in makes him have mercy on me and my brother Hinn.
•Drive down to the Terminal with Hao and Hinn and present the cars to Ming.
Ming steps out of his Armoured Limo and inspects the wares before dropping the bomb. Ming Jr is still alive and set Hinn up because he kept beating him in the illegal races they'd participated in and as a result was in massive debt and brought great shame on the family. Just before they (the crew) decide to run waves of enemies made upon stealing the scores of cars the crew are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
•Survive the waves of enemies until a further plan is hatched •Force Ming and Ming Jr back into the Armoured Limo by keeping them under heavy fire. •Take a picture the the Armoured Limos license plate. •Survive more waves of enemies until the telematic data can be found. •Use the cellphone app to lock the Ming's in the back of the Armoured Limo. •Steal the Armoured Limo and take it to Davis Quartz Quarry. •On the drive to the Quarry, note that even explosions cannot destroy the Armoured Limo. •Defend against the final waves while hiding behind the Armoured Limo. •Use the Cutter that's used for mining the walls of the quarry to rip through the Armoured Limos defence and get revenge on the Ming's.
Completing this mission unlocks the Armoured Limo, a heavily armoured version of the Dundreary Stretch that is impervious to pretty much anything you can throw at it. Performance is awful and it's impossible to shoot from the windows whilst riding in it to balance it out from being too powerful.
New Cars Dinka Sarakin Vapid Sasquatch Benefactor Feltzer Racecar Coil Mantaray Grotti Cheetah 80's Obey Deluxo 80's Pegassi Infernus 80's Bravado Banshee 80's Armoured Limo
New Weapons Katana Blade
Thanks for taking time to read this. I know it was long and I appreciate that you took the time to read what I have created. Any replies are welcome, even TL;DR ones. :)
