Danish Casinos and Gambling in Denmark

I wanted to make an update to this post from June 2019 as a way of journaling and as well as a way to let know the supportive folks who replied to my first post that I actually followed through with their advice, as well as some reflections from my end as this rollercoaster year gets to an end.

200.000 DKK in, 0% return 1,5 years later. My account is just recovering from the March dip, which highlights the need to have a long term vision when investing. Having bonds helped kept my sanity as the portfolio value fell 30% during the setback during the lockdown.

100.000 DKK in 7% return. I decided to take a gamble as the worse part of the panic faded out and I slowly started to max out the account from April to July. I missed on some additional gains if I had gone all in at once, but articles like this discouraged me until my workload (which skyrocketed during the lockdown) prevented me from keeping track of the market and just maxed out one day.
June by Danske Bank. As I became more confident with managing my own portfolio in Nordnet and Saxo, I saw less of a need to have this account because of high costs and a need to consolidate my accounts. I closed In the early in the year with not much return. I believe I only invested 20.000 DKK here, so if anything I am thankful that it helped me getting over my fear of investing, and definitely has the most user friendly mobile platform by far.
Mintos (crowdlending)
10.000EUR in, 12% return. This is another platform that helped me remain sane during the march setback, as investments only moved in one direction (positive). I have pulled out 90% of my original investment, as an interesting development happened during the summer. Lending companies (not individuals loaning) started to default, highlighting a significant weakness of the crowdlending model: if the financial companies originating the loans default, Mintos will not cover for them. Instead they will pursue legal action and move all of those loans to an “in recovery” basket, with no timeline for recovery. I was lucky that I was not majorly impacted by this unlike many others (only 3% of my portfolio is in recovery), so if I manage to pull everything out I might come out 8% ahead. However no certainty about that eirther. I am also slightly ticked off with their model. I set all my loans to last max 3 months and I stopped auto investing in April, and I still have some “invested” loans. They seem like an open company that invests on the platform (which swindlers don’t do) however I sense that there is some turmoil behind the scenes, so hopefully I can get out unscathed by year end.
Going forward: A few questions and considerations for the wiser people in this forum
1. Flat upgrade. I would like at some point in ca. 5 years to do an upgrade to my flat to have an extra bedroom I can use to receive friends and family coming into Denmark to visit me. However I am slightly torn on how to manage my savings going forward. One thing I am learning is that I should not invest money I might need in the next 5 years, as there is a chance I might come out losing. I will end the year with a couple hundred thousand in cash, but I am unsure going forward what to do with my money saved. Hoard in my bank account so I do not need to touch my investments vs go all in with investments and risk it?
2. Real estate investment. I considered, alternatively not selling my current flat and purchasing a new one that is newer than 1992 so I can get into the real estate game. Any experienced landlords in the forum want to share their experiences in Copenhagen?
3. Investing Targets. In addition, I can see by my returns that I am quite a modest investor. I would need to at least reach +1 million DKK invested before I can see any interesting returns (and that is before taxes). Is investing just a fool’s game in Denmark?

They have taken down the 2019 report and went back to the preliminary which doesnt have table 43. But 2018 still incorporates the nifty change where you can see the latino/nonlatino breakdown. Then you subtract the latino murder rate (20%) from the white. This leaves 65% of the population committing only 25% of the murder. Like i said it's really nifty.

US: Immigrants on welfare cost taxpayers 30-86% more than locals

• The average household headed by an immigrant (legal or illegal) costs taxpayers $6,234 in federal welfare benefits, which is 41 percent higher than the $4,431 received by the average native household.
  
• The average immigrant household consumes 33 percent more cash welfare, 57 percent more food assistance, and 44 percent more Medicaid dollars than the average native household. Housing costs are about the same for both groups.
  
• At $8,251, households headed by immigrants from Central America and Mexico have the highest welfare costs of any sending region — 86 percent higher than the costs of native households.
  
• Illegal immigrant households cost an average of $5,692 (driven largely by the presence of U.S.-born children), while legal immigrant households cost $6,378.
  
• The greater consumption of welfare dollars by immigrants can be explained in large part by their lower level of education and larger number of children compared to natives. Over 24 percent of immigrant households are headed by a high school dropout, compared to just 8 percent of native households. In addition, 13 percent of immigrant households have three or more children, vs. just 6 percent of native households.
